Skyfall stands tall, and faces it all, with a second best total of £20,361, not including performances in the following week. My hunch, based on the Tuesday booking at my local cinema, is that it will be very popular, most putting off their viewing from Sunday due to the extended bank holiday.
Still, a very strong performance from what is considered one of the series' best.
Helped by the largest screen count to date.
And so to Craigs penultimate Bond movie! Disappointed to see it on a slightly smaller screen, but the sound was fantastic! Better turnout audience wise than last week. I still find this much maligned film entertaining and I think the whole section on the train from Bond lecturing
Madeleine on how to use a gun, to their old style setting dining car meet, through that bruising fight sequence, and equally bruising love scene, and those gorgeous shots of them waiting on the Rolls Royce, as my highlight! I even enjoyed the final section this time out! So shoot me! 🤣 The score made more of an impact on me this time too, or maybe it was just the more distinctive sound! All in all a really great Bond night at the flicks!

No Time To Die finishes the 60th Anniversary run with a very respectable £17,780, even though it only left cinemas at the beginning of this year and is the most recent release.

Its been a fun time tracking all of the weekly stats for the films. I even managed to go and see them all!
And so it ends, man, that few months flew in! The usual bunch at this screening last night, and I am STILL in two minds about NTTD, was underwhelmed at my first viewing in the cinema, but loved it on 4k bluray!! Entertained and not so much at this viewing, if that makes sense?
Anyway, still lots to enjoy, the first hour + absolutely zips by, then it slows before ratcheting up for the finale ( which, I admit, did get a lump in my throat!) This time I did find the Cuba sequence jarringly out of place, though I love it, it doesn't sit well with the rest of the movie, ( particularly the moment Bond falls from the balcony behind the bar and then jumps up in a very silly way!) though I am head over heels in lust with Ana!
One thing is certain from going to these screenings is that Bond absolutely belongs on the Big Screen!

Other films they're screening include The Hill, The Molly Maguires, Marnie, The Untouchables, Outland, The Man Who Would Be King, The Hunt for Red October, The Name of the Rose and The Wind and the Lion. Out of those, the only ones I haven't seen are The Molly Maguires, The Name of the Rose and The Wind and the Lion. I can't make the Molly Maguires screening, but I can catch the screenings of the latter two. Finally, I will reach 30 Connery films watched, and in fact I'll get to 31.
This is the first and maybe the last time in my life in which I'll watch so many movies in a theater in close succession. I'll probably be vomiting by the end. No matter.
Of the 3 Connery movies you haven’t seen, 'The Wind and The Lion' is most certainly the best of them, a rousing action/adventure movie directed by John Milius, 'The Name of the Rose' is good too, with Our man Sean plsying a Sherlock Holmes type, solving a mystery in a monastery of grotesque characters!
Like I always say, the only good movie-watching month is one where you vomit at the end. I wish you luck in your Seanathon, @mattjoes!
