One dream bit of merch I've always wanted them to do is bring out the Octopussy Seiko watch again! :)
It's only a digital watch, can't be too hard!
It seems Factory Entertainment are releasing Le Cercle casino plaques from DN, and I read elsewhere (speculation only) of the possibility of seeing something from each film.
Some news on the upcoming game, maybe a new comic (although most of the recent efforts have been weak and seem to have difficulty nailing the look of Bond's world).
An announcement of what we can expect from the next film or new actor in the role.
An exhibit encompassing the films and other Bond media and history since 1962.
I dread to think what you would use the camera on? :))
Was not aware on the Factory Entertainment announcement? Be interesting to see what that might encompass?
That's the other Octopussy watch, silly sausage :)
They have rereleased the LALD tarot cards, but at $80 that's a bit over what I'm willing to pay for some cards!
I'm hungry. ;-)
- Cinema re-releases of the most important films (maybe 2 from each actor as a double feature)
- Bond Music concert with performances from remaining artists.
- Bond in Concert. Maybe a Barry one such as Goldfinger.
- 4k Blu-ray disc releases.
- Goldeneye N64 re-release
- The Bond Interview - an in person round table discussion with all the remaining 007’s, Lazenby, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig.
- Another Secret Cinema? They did Casino Royale a few years back. Maybe Spy? Recreate the liparus?
- Designing 007 back at the Barbican, updated with new stuff.
- Some decent official competitions. Gift a fan an Aston Martin?
A Remaster Anthology with TWINE, Nightfire, Bloodstone would be really cool, I think. Would love to play those first two with a modern controller lol
That would be top, or near the top of my list. But I think the best that we can hope for, is a steady flow of updates on what we can expect, throughout this year.
That would be lovely. Probably too late though, I'm still waiting to go and see Superman at the Albert Hall after it was postponed from 2020!
Update wil be English DTS-X / DTS HD-MA 7.1. (or English Atmos / True HD 7.1) Some extra's wil move to bonus disc. With new menu and at audiocommentary where needed. 50 Disc set with all 25 movies.
Example of new extra's:
TMND: 007 Countdown To Tomorrow (Never Dies) 48-49 min doc.
DAD: Happy 40 Years Anniversary Mr Bond. The only doc who was not at on 2 Disc SE. Deletescenes Feature. Delete Scenes. 20 Years Die Another Day: The Cast (A look back with the cast), Chris and Vic (Look back to Special Effects and Stunts 20 years later) Post Production (Loo back with producers, Chris & Vic, Pierce Brosnan, Lee Tamahori and other responsible comment on the ice surfing, scene.
Casino Royale: 2 Disc DE updated with Trailers of the movie on Disc 1. Disc 2 update with James Bond Casino (6 Part 200 minutes Dutch/English doc about various things movies and CR include interview with Britt Ekland. Dutch subs are forced with this doc for English parts, so other subs play above in screen. And like to see more features, like about music the maintitle making of the title song.
QOS: Audiocommentary. Making of features include music. Making maintitles and end credits (20 min) Deletescenes and alternate Angels feature in splitscreen commentary (Above scene, down directer, producers). Deletescenes and alternate Angels. NTTD: Sugest earlier:
2 Disc 4K (4K BD + Disc 2 of BD set: Bonus Disc BD with more extra's)
Everthing what wil be BD first disc is on 4K disc + same BD Bonus Disc. . 50 Disc set with all 25 movies. Also 25 Discs set with 4K disc only.
Limited theatrical re-releases of the remaining films in the weeks that follow. Something on the order of 1 or 2 “representative” movies per actor.
• Goldfinger (Connery)
• OHMSS (Lazenby)
• The Spy Who Loved Me (Moore)
• The Living Daylights (Dalton)
• GoldenEye (Bronsnan)
• Casino Royale (or Skyfall) (Craig)
Note: Here in New York, The Museum of Modern Art did a complete retrospective of the films back in 2012. They actually cycled through all of the films twice over a three-month period.
A Criterion 4K/Blu-ray release of DN. While I don’t think that the existing bonus features can really be improved upon, I would like to see additional audio commentaries. The issue here, is that most of the people actually involved in the production are – unfortunately – no longer with us. Perhaps an audio commentary from a film historian not related to the Bond universe could place the movie (and the series) in a larger cultural context. You could also have “drop-ins” from other film makers that have been inspired by the Bond films.
Some type of Bond fan version of Comic-Con. Horror films, The Beatles, Star Trek, Star Wars, Superhero, and even Godzilla films all have an ongoing series of fan get-togthers to promote “the brand”, but the Bond series does not (to my knowledge). If EON wants to grow the base for these films – especially here in the US – something of this type should be attempted.
Merchandising. Anytime I have guests over, my McFarlane Beatle “Yellow Submarine” figures always spark conversation. Something along these lines for Bond would be nice (and yes, I’m aware of the Fungo series of toys). Again, promote “the brand.” When was the last time you saw a teen-something in a Bond related t-shirt???!!!!!
Finally, announce their plans for Bond 26. This one is kinda obvious.
My two cents – for what its’ worth (not much I know) 😊.
I think they're being shown on a new projector at the Prince Charles Cinema in London at the moment.
They are! One a week until August, would like to make it down for OP as its a fav and have never seen it on the big screen.
-GE64 Remaster Announcment
-Details about Project 007
-News about Bond 26
-This one is quite a reach, but I’d love a complete soundtrack release for DN, FRWL, TSWLM, and MR.
I don't think it's impossible, fingers crossed.
She would be the natural choice to host it now I would have thought?
- Any Bond 26 news, something, anything!
- An extensive TV docu series akin to the quality of the ' Inside' DVD episodes.
- A brilliantly researched, bang up to date book which also charts the world that the films were made in through the years. I'm thinking a cross between ' Some Kind of Hero' and the 'Legacy' book.
I don’t think GL and PB still like each other, unfortunately.
As for me, the following:
https://www.mi6-hq.com/news/more-talk-of-a-goldeneye-007-hd-remake-coming-soon-220214
For all gaming platforms, James Bond is a universal character for everyone.
A making of book for Dr. No, akin to Charles Helfenstein’s OHMSS & TLD.
A true Pierce Bronsan Retrospective Book of his movies, not just fan opinions.
Whether or not, Anthony Horowitz and Kim Sherwood are going beyond their book trilogies for more.
That’s all I can think of for now.
You probably already have this, but in case you don't: Cinema Retro put together a DN "Making Of" publication back in 2012. I think they still have a few copies in stock.
