    Yes and yes to both of those, please, @MaxCasino. I bet he has a lot of original material he could use to create new books that help flesh out his films and universe even more.

    Hear, hear! I would be curious about Reservoir Dogs and The Hateful Eight getting stage adaptations, they would work well. If QT wanted to write a Bond or Star Trek book, I'd be ok with that as well.

    I know he even had plans earlier on to do a longer cut version of Django Unchained, incorporating unused footage, but not sure if that's a project he'd still return to. Hell, I'd even take a longer novel adaptation of his own script instead.

    RESERVOIR DOGS has been adapted to the stage a few times. I think the first production was in Chicago in 1998.

    Just read about this, that’s insane. Guess after his very recent rewrite, he wasn’t feeling where it was at considering it’ll be his final film. Really eager to see what he ends up choosing but this is real surprising and a bit of a bummer since it was set to film soon.

    I’m somewhat not surprised, honestly. We haven’t learned much about it, since after the writers/actors strike. It would have been interesting to see Cliff Booth possibly come back. It gets made, it gets made. If not, oh well. QT could always turn it into a book. He knows what he’s doing.

    Tarantino available for Bond for his 10th-and-last-film ? I doubt he would turn to someone else's franchise for his last, though I also offer great encouragement to QT that he figure the doing someone else's franchise film - Bond, Star Trek, Paddington, whatever - would not count toward the Ten. This also means he could direct two or three filmed one right after the other a la Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit and get in a few with an actor who would serve that trilogy and then move one. Someone who might be too old to stretch out their term, and so would go along with the film-a-trilogy's-worth-in-a-quick, well-planned stretch. Like, say, Pierce Brosnan...Idris Elba. Hmmm...maybe film them close together but each a one-off, or within the three there would be a pair and a single ? So he could work with BOTH ? Add George Lazenby and he could film 4. Simultaneously have others film the Moneypenny books, the post-Fleming Bonds, and Young Bonds. Those YBs should be filmed in their own timeframe, which follows - pretty much - Fleming's Bond's timeline. Yup, I'm still pitching all this and still liking it...

    If Tarantino were to do Trek or Bond, he’d likely not count that as his actual 10th film but regard it as his “franchise film”. He already kinda cheats by counting his two Kill Bill films as one.

    This is the case. He's admitted as much when that Star Trek film was gearing up.

    He also reiterated the other day that Kill Bill is technically two films but he sees them as one since he wrote it as one script.

    And he did shoot it as one film. It wasn’t until post-production that he agreed to split it in two. He was hoping to make it as long as an epic like ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA, but the think Disney wouldn’t go for that.

    I actually live about less than half an hour away from the movie theater he owns in Hollywood. I’m always eagerly awaiting to see if he plays his single film cut there, but it’s been awhile now.

    Tarantino's obsession with the numbering of his movies is amusing when you consider that he still refuses to include FOUR ROOMS in his CV. Fellini had the pedantic bravery to include his anthology segments when he came up with the title for 8 1/2.

    Four Rooms, to be fair, is not the best film to have on one's resume, but I agree that Tarantino should add it.
    I generally enjoy Roth but he annoyed me in FR for some reason.

    Roth is dreadful in it, but what ultimately sinks the entire segment is Tarantino's decision to cast himself in a lead role. He's beyond terrible. Bruce Willis, who spends most of the segment yelling into a phone or drunkenly cursing, is completely wasted and should've played Tarantino's character.

    That was from a time when Tarantino still had aspirations of becoming a movie star. It’s what he always wanted to do before writing and directing took more precedence. I think by the time he was doing JACKIE BROWN he had finally given up those aspirations.

    It's a bit difficult for me to get excited about a new Tarantino film though. But again, that might just be me.

    I can see what you mean. I’m getting a bit tired of his alternative history stories. However, it seems like he’s not totally done.
