Vaarwel, beste bovenbuur! Je was een geweldig acteur.
He was also excellent as the terrorist in the underrated Stallone vehicle NIGHTHAWKS (1981).
What crappy year.
Oh damn. :( I can't think of Hauer, and not think of his performance in The Hitcher.
Roger and Rutger both played bad guys in Alias.
Lost for words.
Roy Batty... 'I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.'
One of my favourite lines from one of my favourite films, I will watch Blade Runner tonight.
I remember Rutger steal the show in Stallones cop drama Nighthawks 1981, that's the film that introduced me to Rutger, a good often forgotten film.
R. I. P.
Edited: Looking through his work I completely forgot about The Osterman Weekend 1983 directed by Sam Sam Peckinpah. A film I have not seen for thirty years, due a rewatch.
Hauer no showed Bham con last month , not so surprising now if he was very ill
RIP Hitcher.
RIP Rutger Hauer
He will be forever remembered for his stunning role in BLADE RUNNER.
Gosh, almost forgot about him being in Peckinpahs final film,
The Osterman Weekend, saw that in the cinema on its initial release. Has quite a cast!
RIP Rutger Hauer
He stays unforgettable in Blade Runner, but every film he was in was lifted to another Level through his participation.
From our own @jamesbondlive on Twitter:
RIP Rutger Hauer. An iconic actor who will forever be remembered for his role as Roy Batty in Blade Runner. In 1984, he was offered the part of Max Zorin in A VIEW TO A KILL but turned it down. He wanted to play 007 instead.
It's a shame Hauer wasn't cast in a Bond opus. Hauer starred in "Hobo with a Shotgun", a deliciously shoclky, ultra violence film, and is one of my favourites.

Interesting read, I like and agree with Hauer's logic
It's time to watch The Hitcher.
