  Tragic news : French graphic novel artist Fred Dewilde, who had survived the terrorist attack on the Bataclan on novembre 13th 2015, and suffered from PTSD afterwards, which he tried to exorcise by recounting his story in two graphic novels, had killed himself on may 5th, aged 58.

  Without him, american cinema would not be what it was, that's for sure. When you think of all the directors who owe the beginning of their careers to him, you can't help being impressed : Peter Bogdanovitch, Ron Howard, James Cameron, Martin Scorcese, Francis Ford Coppola. Not to mention the actors, like Jack Nicholson. If I had a hat, I would tip it to him.

  There is barely a day that goes buy when one of Corman's films doesn't play on TV, certainly on the Talking Pictures channel in the UK.

  Whilst Susan Backlinie was a bit part player, it's hard to argue her impact in the role of Chrissie in Jaws.

  Paal Johannessen , the final member of Olsen-gang (Olsenbanden) died.....he did 8 out of 14 films so a huge part of those films

  This might actually qualify for the "Farewell to Members of the Bond Family" thread...
  
  Richard M. Sherman, who together with his pre-deceased brother Robert B. is best known for writing the music for Mary Poppins and most of the songs for The Jungle Book, died at the tender old age of 95 at a Beverly Hills hospital. Bond family? Yes, of course...for those who aren't aware of this. The Shermans also composed the music for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, whose cast and crew are virtually indistinguishable from the 60s' Bond movies, except for Sean Connery missing... I'll settle for Gert Fröbe here (with his own voice).

  Phil Hartman. It is hard to watch Phil in a lot of things considering what happened to him. Nice, talent guy, who got taken away from us 26 years ago today. He is missed in more ways than one.
