True. But whereas TOD is a classic. TKOTCS is bland, average and forgettable.
Now, that's not bad (in fact, my favorite film is Crusade). But variety would be good. Going back to the style of Raiders would feel fresh.

I don't mind Ron Ely's film which I own, its daft though of its time, I have a few of the comics on Kindle.
Doc Savage would be a great post Wolverine role/franchise for Hugh Jackman
I agree, however he got to rid off into the sunset in TLC, with Marcus, Sallah and Henry.
That was as good a send off as I can imagine.
Marshal Law's costume looks utterly ridiculous - kind of cross between a pro wrestler and someone into sadomasochism (!) but with a decent costume redesign the character could have movie potential. Marshal Law could be the ideal R rated superhero franchise to follow on from Deadpool. Dwayne Johnson was considered for the role of Marshal Law back in 2009 but the film, under option at Warner Bros, never went into production.
I love Doc Savage. Read many of the books and comics, pulp but great fun, and I even love the '70's movie with Ron Ely, even though it camps it up. I'd love to see Doc Savage back on the screen and done faithfully. Shane Black has a script (faithful and period set) and has had serious talks with The Rock about playing Doc.

For sure Benny, it was the perfect sendoff for a good 20 years nearly, until they made a 4th one.
That said, it has now been 11 years since release. It's probably too late at this point. :-SS
I know about Shane Black's attempt to get a Doc film off the ground, and am heartened that his script is purportedly set in the 1930s. Also, Black would likely excel at the back-and-forth comic banter between Doc's five assistants... Unfortunately, Black's latest film, THE PREDATOR (2018) flopped pretty hard -- because it was just not very good.
Big franchise-like films don´t seem to gel well with Black.
IMO in his smaller and self-created films, i.e. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The nice Guys, he nails absolutely everything, and he seemlessly blends adult Humor that is actually funny with kid actors that are actually not annoying, and adds on top of that emotional Depth.
But Iron Man 3 wasn´t the best IM film, and The Predator somehow lost ist way big time.
I get the Impression huge Projects don´t inspire Black that much. Or perhaps he´s just not the type to stand up against a lot of Studio lawyers trying to impose various directions on a Project.
I always thought Chris Pratt was the more obvious.
For continuity purposes, looking back, casting Shia Laboef was a mistake and even more making him the son. I understand that he was a hot commodity at the time coming off Transformers, but they could have made it so a Pratt or Cooper could be the son of Indy in an upcoming film. You can't do that now without rebooting the whole thing.
And set it in the 1930s.
Job done.
Cooper I could get on board with, I don't care for proud animal killer Pratt. They would be better getting a relative unknown, another film series usually does well enough going down that route, now what is it called ;)

Just in time for Harrison's 80th birthday in July 2022. ;)
