If that is the case I do not see that.
I just hope Skyfall doesn't make reference to Justin Bieber: The Movie ;)
Where's the Don't Look Now reference?
Edit: Of course Venice, dressed in red, drowning...duh
The Magnificent Seven in MR
Casablanca in MR
Me neither. The only connection is that they take place on trains.
I don't see any direct reference in Casino Royale from Don't Look Now. Yes, both movies have time spent in Venice, and the color red is briefly relevant, and I can just about remember the little girl drowning towards the beginning, and then you have the Eva Green character, but I can't look beyond it's merely a coincidence and nothing more
There's plenty of other examples to explore here doubtless, but for another time
There is absolutely no way that Cambell is not referencing Don't Look Now in the final scenes where Bond follows Vesper through the streets of Venice. It is very very obvious and a nice sinister touch IMO. The scene presages death, which is highly appropriate and 100% intentional. These kinds of things do not simply occur by coincidence.
The train scene in CR references NBNW IMO simply because it's a sizzling chat up scene on a train. The reference is not as direct as it is with Don't Look Now, but it will have been in the writers' and director's minds. Everyone knows and loves the scene in NBNW, so to try and capture a little of that chemistry would have been the intention. I think it works well. One of the best parts of the film.
EDIT: It's already been posted.
Dr. Zhivago in TSWLM
My Fair Lady in AVTAK
And of course, GF in OHMSS
Because of the janitor's whistle?
It is Enter The Dragon
Of course, if we take the 167 version of Casino Royale, then, we get a lot of references to other movies : Born Free, What's New Pussycat, Moulin Rouge, the Keystone Cops, etc.
I think it's a ref to both films. Lady of Shanghai came first as well.
Yes! :)
Interesting. Never heard of that film before.
Is more of a short story than a film (though has been adapted). The person getting chased gets three hours on a jungle island and some rich madman hunts him. It was parodied in The Simpsons halloween special when Mr Burns hunts Springfield men
And The Most Dangerous Game is a great movie. "First the hunt, then the revels.
"
Only if you don't take into account the notes that preceed those three notes. There, you'll see that the janitor really whistles the theme from GF.
And OP has a pretty big musical reference to all the other Bond movies as well.
These are films outside of the Bond franchises that are referenced in the franchise itself.
Oh.. right.
