    The role of the supposed "British main Bond girl" is one of the most mystery roles I've had to endure in the production of a Bond film. The fact that we've got to the point where we don't even know if there's gonna be that type of character in the film or was the description given for a character that already exists in the film?

    If all the other casting rumours are true (excluding Monica), then this is the role I'll be waiting to hear about, as I have no clue what's gonna happen with it.

    I'm wondering if perhaps the role of the 'British main Bond girl' has been changed to another nationality due to script changes or perhaps EON couldn't find a suitable girl for the original part. If somebody like Emily Blunt had taken the British role, i'd be very happy, but as good an actress Joanna Froggatt might be, i personally don't think she's 'Bond girl' material. I'd be happy with Monica Bellucci. I still think she's beautiful and has that exotic look and is very classy. I'm also hoping that Naomi will stay in the office this time.

    But I just don't think Monica Bellucci is what I personally wanna see in the follow up to Skyfall, not to say people can't have their own opinion. If I was to choose between Joanne and Monica, I would choose Joanne because of what I can imagine Mendes and the writers could do with her as an actress as talented as her and how cool it would be to witness an actress that no-one believed was Bond-girl material become a fantastic main Bond girl alongside Craig and the rest of the cast. I feel like although Mendes could work some magic with Bellucci, but I don't think you could make her a Bond girl that people are gonna love and remember.

    I'm actually hoping that 'if' there have been changes to the script, Lea Seydoux will be the main bond girl. (Hopefully a bad girl who comes good at the end), and 'if' Monica does have a part in the film, perhaps she will play a villain or the secondary Bond girl, or perhaps just be involved in the scene's filmed in Italy. If Joanna had a role similar to Clair Dowar MP, i'd be fine with that, but that's me. Everybody has different opinions as you say.

    Monica in a Bond movie and not getting it on with Bond is a waste. It doesn't matter if she's 50. Any straight man will still hit that without hesitation.

    Make that many straight men with half a bottle of Tequila in them. It might be considered political incorrect in the extreme, but I still happen to think Bond girls should be just that - girls ( or at the very,very least women on the good side of 35).

    I always said, a re-introduction of Blofeld has to be both ingenious and carefully crafted. Which means that we probably don't get large screentime for a possible Blofeld-character in Bond 24. Or perhaps only a cameo from Blofeld.

    So perhaps this Andrew Scott is the actual screen villain, with the largest screentime. A bit like Largo vs. Kronsteen. Perhaps Andrew Scott plays Franz Oberhauser, the son of the late Hans Oberhauser. And then Christoph Waltz has a tiny roly in Bond 24 as Blofeld, close to the end of the film.

    I always thought that, if Blofeld returns, they won't bring him back with such an uninteresting "big bang". The character, IF the character will be re-introduced, will be brought back carefully and in a nuanced and at the same time sinister and exciting way. Small screentime, but with wunderful impact.

    Very good thoughts here. I agree 100 percent!

    Maybe she's cast as Léa Seydoux's boss? A French or Italian version of the late M.

    This would be a good idea. No reason, attractive older women can't be cast in supporting roles. She does't have to be a Bond girl, per se.

    My theory is that if the
    Spectre organization returns
    , then they will have some type of connection with
    Quantum
    ; doesn't it seem weird to just drop off
    one unfinished organization in favor of bringing a new one in? I have a feeling they will somehow be intertwined (maybe Quantum IS Spectre?)

    I think you could be on to something there.

    Well, it always seemed to me that
    The mysterious organization in Casino was supposed to be SPECTRE, even if they couldn't use the name

    But then
    the mysterious organization was hastily renamed Quantum when the title Quantum of Solace was chosen

    So
    it wouldn't be much of a stretch that Quantum was/is SPECTRE

    Hopefully that's not the case. Or else that would be a terrible waste of Waltz and the use of a nobody in a major part, considering you had Bardem as the villain in Skyfall.

    EDIT: I will eat a shoe if Andrew Scott has a bigger role than Waltz.

    Woops. Forgot to refresh my page.
  • Also a scooper from Latino Review has hinted he will drop the big news on Bond 24 before the press conference on Thursday

    https://twitter.com/elmayimbe

    I'm pretty sure he refers to Dave Bautista's casting : he was the one who gave us the scoop, and now he simply says his scoop will be confirmed during the photocall. I don't think he'd be keeping any other big news under wraps if he had them.

    If only the live feed had 24/7 Bond music playing up until the announcement. I'd be listening to that for the next 32 hours!

    Andrew Scott is now in the spotlight of playing a villain? I think I did kind of like him in the Moriarty role, often playing the mind games and all, but I don't really think he could be a physical match for Daniel Craig. Probably a sub-villain he is? Like Kronsteen or something?

    Hmm...

    Waltz = Number 1
    Bellucci = Irma Blunt
    Scott = Kronsteen
    Bautista = Grant?

    Andrew Scott was excellent in the Sherlock series. He would be a huge addition to the cast.
    I don't know if any of the Bellucci or Scott rumblings, bear even a scintilla of veracity, but if true, I could see both of them fitting in very nicely in strong support roles.
    It does seem that Waltz and Seydoux have the beefy roles, along with Bautista as henchman, but there is still room for a few other substantial parts, I would think.

    Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci, and Andrew Scott all possibly going up against Craig as James Bond in this upcoming film? If this is confirmed Thursday (or if they're all in the film playing good guys or bad guys), then there's no way for me to pump the brakes on my excitement: the train will have already left the station, as I'll be having a fanboy heart attack.

    Which I'm realllllly hoping is the case. Bond tussling with her as a femme fatale while fist fighting Bautista and taking on Waltz and Scott is an unbelievable notion. Let's just hope those fist fights are a bit better this time around. I want Bond more capable and gritty, ala CR and QoS.
