I've rewatched the first one on 4K a good bit lately @Fire_and_Ice_Returns, it looks fantastic and it's such a great movie.
The transfer is great highlights De Palma's brilliant direction even more, its been a while since I watched the first film Tom looks young. I decided to buy the Steelbooks in 4K for every film in the series, one box set I was looking at I was not keen on which made my mind up.
Hadn’t seen this one before, how is this not the best mission impossible film, I thought it was so entertaining and exciting, yet it seems to be pretty low key amongst people who talk about MI( usually they hail MI 4 as the best one)
Extremely overrated.
It's so boring and predictable. 6/10
This isn't normally my kind of fare, but I may check it out on account of Sandgren's rumoured involvement on B25.
It's certainly not bad and it arguably has the best villain in PSH. I personally find it lacks flair in comparison to the later entries and that's why I prefer those. I also am not too keen on the angst.
Not just overrated but extremely?
There is an element of predictability certainly, but I felt the execution made up for that.
I think the ending is so predictable,the usual disarm the bombs,Tom escaping from the helicopter etc.

The Kingsman films kick fallouts ass.
The jack reacher films were better.

I'm hoping to pick up Fallout a bit cheaper on Ebay over the next few weeks (prices tend to fall after the initial euphoria dies down) and then will be doing a full MI-athon myself.

Elsewhere they are more than double that in price, I bought the first film as a tester and its the real deal. I noticed they had over 50 copies of the first film so there initial quantities may have brought down the price. The Five movies have cost me £60 though worth it for the aesthetics of them being individual Steelbooks… which I will display lol
I bought the UHD digital copy of Fallout, ill buy the Steelbook of Fallout when the price drops, hopefully a similar design to the other five movies will be released. As there are Bluray copies included with the UHD I will sell my other Bluray's of the films to recoup some money.
Cheers not checked the Bluray disk yet, unless I am watching a digital copy on my laptops or Tablets etc once I have 4K version that's all I will watch. At least the BD versions with 4K disks has the extras on.
I still have the Bluray boxset of The Dark Knight trilogy though its such a nice Boxset I am reluctant to part with it despite getting the 4K set.
Pretty bad film though Mickey Rourke was great in it. 4/10
Mickey Rourke was one of the best actors at the time and would have been great in Die hard or other films made in the 80's and 90's.

Brian De Palma was a genius.
He doesn't make any good films now which is a shame.
I'll have to watch it some day.
What's your favourite de palma film or films ?
Body Double is the first film I watched its really surreal, Obsession is a well directed film though totally messed up. Raising Cain is good, though the three that stand out are Scarface, Untouchables and Carlito's Way all masterpieces. I watched Sisters for the first time a few years ago, good film. Snake Eyes has its plus points for some great technical scenes.
Dressed to Kill,Mission: Impossible, Carrie are more classics.

Dressed to Kill is certainly the natural progression of Psycho. Never been the biggest fan of Carrie to be honest it's not a film I revisit though I recognise it. Did not mention Mission Impossible as mentioned it earlier.
Raising Cain is worth watching for John Lithgow at his insane best.
I can't watch Raising Cain because i can't stand watching John Lithgow.
