    Too big for a bathroom, yes. But if you have a large enough wall space in your living room you could start charging people $8.50 a ticket to watch films there.

    My comment is slightly tongue in cheek, of course. Yes, I could fit an 85 inch on one of the walls. But I agree, not at that price.

    Completely agree. Couldn't fathom the praise. Will be giving the sequel a wide berth!!
    Ant Man and the Wasp was much more fun!

    Out of the Past. I'm a fan of film noir and this is one of the greats.

    My favourite Sly Stallone performance. Wonderfully understated amidst a fine ensemble cast that is boosted by a compelling story.

    Mirrors my feelings exactly. Ferrell was no Crockett in my eyes, and that stylish vibrant colours of Vice were gone. Sad to say it wasn’t a very good adaptation. But, on its own, it was like any other Michael Mann film: A good film!

    Of Michael Mann, I loved Heat, The Insider, Collateral and what I've seen of Manhunter. But while it has some good and even great scenes, a great aesthetic and a great score, I don't care too much for Thief.
    The guy is so committed to the idea of getting together with the woman, sharing a life with her and even starting a family with her, because he has wasted too much time in his life, and when everything goes wrong he leaves her because he can't protect her or whatever. Okay, I get that. But then he proceeds to go into the bad guys' house and kill everybody like the friggin' Terminator. Somehow it feels jarring. We had the impression this guy and the woman were under so much danger but he kills the head honchos in a matter of minutes. And I'm left thinking, why did he leave her, then? I understand the reason, but it's jarring when put together with the idea this guy is a killing machine. The ending feels off. The guy is too efficient a killer, which spoils the idea he's in any danger, and it spoils the ending.

    As I understand the concept of the ending, they should've had him try to skip town, find a few killers on his way out and survive by the skin of his teeth.

    I'm with @LeonardPine on that one. I think it's a very underrated film. Acting, photography, soundtrack, ... they all work for me.

    One of my all time favorite films. I love every frame. Bob Mitchum, Kirk Douglas and the radiantly seductive Jane Greer.

    Farrell is no Johnson, that's for sure. I remember it being ok, but the iconic tv series cast a large shadow. Technically it was decent enough, but the cast (except for Gong Li) didn't have the necessary charisma imho.

    I love Thief it's one of my favourite Mann films and has a stand out performance from Caan.

    But you're right about the ending. Something not right about it.

    But the rest of the film is class.

    I think it works best as a film on its own and not connected to the TV show, which it bears little resemblance to.

    I really love it and I think Farrell is fine in the film, as is Foxx although his character is more of a supporting role.

    Some of the dialogue is clunky in a couple of places and Crockett's affair isn't believable, but this is pure Mann and I find it very re-watchable.

    Miami Vice is criminally underrated. I'll always hate that we won't be getting a sequel to it. It's one of my favorites from Mann (but then again, most of them are).

    My favourite Mann is undoubtedly Manhunter. Loved the colours, the tension, the score and the overall atmosphere. Cracks my top 10 all time favourites.
