    Batman mask of the phantasm

    I love this film it likely won’t be number one on my list (Batman begins will be likely it) my one issue with this film is I dislike the whole Batman May be the bad guy nonsense....

    I like the love story it makes Batman kind of tragic over all.

    Excellent movie; simple, low on CGI tricks, Strong villain (see what I did there?), ... In short, a film that doesn't try to do more than it can do and works great within its boundaries.

    Looks like a sequel is in the works already. Some punks in the back row had an argument because one of them had asked the other to get tickets for Captain Marvel and repeated five or six times that his buddy had screwed up. I wanted to turn around and say that this was the real Captain Marvel, but wise as I am, and pure of heart, I shut up.

    Finally dove into the Criterion Channel's Columbia Noir spotlight, My Name is Julia Ross was quite the fast-paced, tight little noir film. Didn't care for the abruptness of the ending, but for a modest budget, it looked fantastic.

    Just finished up Unbreakable, probably my 30th or so viewing of M. Night's most underrated film. Now onto Split, which I'm seeing for the first time.

    One of my all-time favorites! I love the whole trilogy, but Unbreakable is the best one. Glass was extremely underrated and a great capper to the story.

    Unbreakable is an all-time favorite. Deliberate. Striking. Unbelievable.

    Split I watched recently, it was very good.

    Glass I committed to watch tonight based on comments here.

    Unbreakable might be my favorite "superhero" movie. I need to get around to checking out Split and Glass finally, I've still yet to do so.

    Split is now finished and damn, but is it a good movie. All that good word of mouth it got on release was true. James McAvoy owned the movie, beginning to end.

    Awesome! Hope Glass is as enjoyable for you too as it was for me. That one gets a lot of hate, but it’s actually my second favorite after Unbreakable. Split’s great too though.

    Last but certainly not least, Glass rounds out the trilogy in what I consider the most appropriate way. I'll probably follow your ranking, @FoxRox, as I did find it more enjoyable than Split, though only by a narrow margin. It's got a relatively slow build up that somewhat hurts it, but the climax is so worth it.

    All in all, the Eastrail 177 Trilogy (as the Blu-ray case calls it) was an astounding piece of cinema.

    So glad it was a success for you! Shyamalan has had his flops, but to me the trilogy stands as his crowning achievement and all 3 films are very strong. The Sixth Sense of course is also terrific, but the trilogy collectively (most of all Unbreakable) is my favorite thing he put out.

    Agree very good suspense film. In many ways i see De Palma as Hitchcock's predecessor as the master of suspense.

    Agreed! Very suspenseful, this one. I do slightly prefer the likes of his Dressed to Kill, but they're both fantastic.

    Agreed! Very suspenseful, this one. I do slightly prefer the likes of his Dressed to Kill, but they're both fantastic.

    Dressed To Kill is more flashy and stylized but also excellent.

    After finishing the series, I decided to also rewatch the two films. This one out first, one I did not get to see until some years ago. Enjoyable watch.

    Watched the film The Lineup (1958) earlier with Eli Wallach, such an incredible and exciting film. Really portrayed the city of San Francisco well, the cinematography highlights it wonderfully and there's even a once famous museum that burned down in a fire in the 1960's that's still standing in it.

    This was my first watch. Been interested in seeing it for a long time, and found it at the library.

    I have had Munich on dvd since its release and attempted to watch it a few times though only got so far though what I saw was good, I bought the Bluray last year though my films to watch list is too vast at the moment.

    Munich is for me one of the best films Spielberg has made, no I wouldn't put it up there with Jaws, Raiders & CEOTK but this and Catch Me If You Can, are the most satisfying films I've seen of his in this century.

    Munich is a seriously brutal film and all the better for it. The cast firing on all 4 cylinders including our boy.
