But @chrisisall came in that thread upon the perfect villain.

How about an Amish master villain? I don't think that's been done before...

And if we had an Amish villain in Bond 24 it would be a great contrast to Silva, who was a technological wizard.

I can picture the pre-title sequence now...

Bond races along a dusty road in his Aston, kicking up dirt and rock while on the tail of...

...a horse and carriage with our villain inside it.

Oh yeah, I can see the potential now. Call Logan and Mendes and have them scrap anything they have written up until now. We've got a winner on our hands with this one.

I remind you of the name "Christartos" and the quote "We are amongst friends here." or whatever cabbage him and his friend used to sprout. Wonder whether he still lurks in another profile, probably not, haven't seen anyone with his bad grammar, creepy pictures of old Bond villains and weird threads yet, maybe he's retired, or gone to another thread. Who knows, he may even be plotting his revenge.

It is not the most philosophical thread but not completely stupid either.

I like the sound of it.

The final climax, as Bond and the villain are 50 feet away on horseback, one bullet each between them:

Bond villain: "Mr. Bond, I told you upon the date of our first meeting that you would pay for your slants against my operations, and now your time has come to die."

Bond [laughing]: "I think I'm going to end up disappointing you."

Bond villain: "Oh really? And why is that?"

Bond: "Because I fix to kill you first!"
  • There's been an array of threads on here, boring threads, stupid threads, pointless threads, and general unsavory threads from one or two now defunct participants, but nothing really stands out. The 'Adele sings Skyfall' thread got a little irritating as there was simply no end in sight and it was the only topic of conversation for some six months some will remember, and just got tiring in the end. I was just about bored to pieces by the end of it all

Add to that, the 'what if James Bond was female' thread - absolutely no chance in hell of coming to pass and an asinine subject of conversation from this perspective. I got to add any thread about Batman that appears on these pages. No sense in lying

Someone started a piece about 'what would you do if the world was to end in three minutes', some time back, and it was quickly shut down. Lo and behold the same participant took it upon himself to start the exact same subject matter only moments later. Needless to say, that didn't survive long either

I am tired of the endless discussions of EON bringing Blofeld and SPECTRE back. Who needs them in the 21st Century?

Exactly how I feel. It seems to be an MI6 members' obsession given the number of threads on it.

Because people keep going on about it. It gets tiring, talking about something unlikely to happen in the next film at least, meaning such a scenario is many years away.

Blofeld is a good character. I think the 60s films wasted him a bit and he's never been used to his full potential. Bringing him back doesn't mean the Dr Evil type we saw before, they could easily use one of the books as inspiration, and it could make a nice arc for a few films. He could also be head of Quantum so that storyline isn't forgotten about.

So that's why I'd like him back. Why do people find that so hard to understand?
  • I wonder what would be worse, a thread on Brosnan turning in to one on Blofeld's return, or a thread on Blofeld turning into one on Brosnan?

@thelivingroyale, it isn't hard to understand at all, it just gets tiring. Like I've stated in the past, I wouldn't be completely bitter if he was to return, I just don't think it's necessary. Give us a new super villain.

Personally I think the constant DAD hate threads are tiring. Someone (I think @Pierce2Daniel or @Ludvico), started an interesting thread about how the failed Jinx spin off may have impacted CR and as usual, it just ended up with people slagging it off. Yes it's crap, yes it's the worst Bond film, but slagging it off gets boring after a while.

But even though I think those threads get tiring, I wouldn't say any of those threads are the worst threads on the site.

I think there are too many threads that have gone so off track for me to consider one the "worst." I think in terms of something being the worst, it would have to be one of the nights that trolls just sat around posting porn and gruesome death photos. Come up with any ridiculous theories, possibilities, wishes, female Bond, or idea threads that you want, nothing will ever beat what they posted.
  • I think those are disqualified, but yeah, it wasn't much fun slogging through them all to report them.

Some may be tiring, but tiring does not equal bad. If someone speculates about a possible return of Blofeld and bring some evidence about it, then the thread is worth it. Of course it means bringing some kind of evidence about his return, like that interview with Logan, not merely creating speculation out of wishful thinking. Debating whether or not Blofeld should return, or should he return what would be the way to develop the character, these are not bad thread, not necessarily anyway. Saying that Mallory is in fact Blofeld, however, is a very bad thread.

Yes, that horse has been dead since the early 80s. It must have a musty stink about it by now.

Well I'm sure that there doubtless is as that rubbish theory does have its fair share of adherents besides its originator Lee Tamahori.
