  • That looks like a good list, but personally I consider the "after-the-fact" showdowns between Bond and henchmen (or main villains) as something separate from the main finale because they happen in another time and place. So I wouldn't include vs. Klebb, vs. Goldfinger, vs. W&K, vs. Tee Hee, vs. Nick Nack (this one might be debatable), or vs. Whitaker. LALD's finale would be the raid on the voodoo ceremony and showdown with Kananga in the underground lair because it's all part of one fluid sequence in the same time and location. Similarly, I would include the Disco Volante action with Thunderball's finale and Zukovsky's raid on Maiden's Tower with TWINE's.

    excellent list @maydaydivicenzo!
The epic finales are a hi-lite of all Bond films.
    I like @somekindofhero 's tweeks.
Yes, I do think focus should be on the grand finale action, things-go-boom extravaganzas that you've identified.
Bond vs Klebb, GF, W&K, Tee Hee and Whitaker come well after the grand finales have concluded. They are tagged on scenarios.
I would include Blond vs Nick Nack as a tag-on too. The destruction of Scaramanga's island is long concluded. Bond has settled into his slow-boat-from-China smoochfest with Goodnight, when Nick Nack interrupts.

As @somekindofhero suggests, there is continuity in TB with the underwater finale and the Disco Volante battle. That's all one glorious grand finale.
Same with TWINE. The finale effectively starts with Zukovsky's raid and continues with Bond's standoff with Elektra and the big battle on the submarine.

Re TSWLM, the destruction of Liparus is the major final battle setpiece, but there is continuity extending to the jet-ski trip to Atlantis and the blow-up of that place, battle with Jaws, concluding with Bond and Anya's escape.
Bond does take a little break on the sub between Liparus and Atlantis, but it's a business break. Atlantis is very much next on the agenda, much the way the Disco Volante battle follows the underwater fight.

The grand finale game sparks another Bond-girl idea too. Best performance by a lead Bond-girl in a grand finale scenario. M in SF not included.
  • I'd like to vote once again for secondary Bond girls. It's a perfect logical progression, and there's a clear-cut one for every movie.

@Birdleson, I considered it, but I don't really see the DB5 as a gadget. However, one could make a Bond Car elimination game which would be a better fit for the DB5 and other Bond cars.

to whoever is tabulating. I vote best secondary bond-girl.

here is the list again, copied from page 8. Only actress credit I am not sure of is Kell Tyler as yacht-girl in TLD. We all know the character, but I am only making educated guess that Tyler is the actress. It's hard to suss from the credits and other basic research.
Naturally best 3rd string Bond-girl would follow. Logical progression. I would be happy to compile that list, when needed.

    1. Zena Marshall as Taro
    2. Eunice Gayson as Sylvia Trench
    3. Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson
    4. Luciana Paluzzi as Fiona
    5. Akiko Wakabayashi as Aki
    6. Angela Scoular as Ruby
    7. Lana Wood as Plenty O'Toole
    8. Gloria Hendry as Rosie Carver
    9. Maud Adams as Andrea
    10. Caroline Munro as Naiomi
    11. Corrine Cleary as Corrine Dufour
    12. Cassandra Harris as Lisl
    13. Kristina Wayborn as Magda
    14. Grace Jones as Mayday
    15. Kell Tyler as Linda, yacht girl
    16. Talisa Soto as Lupe
    17. Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp
    18. Teri Hatcher as Paris Carver
    19. Sophie Marceau as Elektra King
    20. Rosamund Pike as Miranda Frost
    21. Caterina Murino as Solange
    22. Gemma Arterton as Fields
    23. Naomi Harris as Eve

3rd string Bond girls, really? That's honestly quite humorous to me. How long will it go until you have people just voting on pictures of women seen in the crowds of each Bond film, who aren't even credited in the actual movie beyond Girl with Drink #2 or Lady on Staircase #7? =))

Before that point we'll probably even see a Bond Girl Elimination game where people will vote on random women they fancy that appear during each film's opening title sequence. But after that, you're right: then people will just take to Google images looking for pictures of attractive women and calling for a vote, with no connection to the Bond franchise whatsoever. I'll start us off...

3rd string Bond girls, really? That's honestly quite humorous to me.
Actually 3rd-string Bond girl would include many prominent women from the series. Most of the films go 3-girl deep. It does get a little tricky identifiying categorically who 3rd string might be in some films, although most are pretty obvious I think.
2nd tier Bond-girl list is pretty straightforward but 3rd tier isn't that tough either.
3rd tier includes some obvious ones such as Tania Mallet as Tilly Masterson in GF, Eunice Gayson as Sylvia Trench in DN, Karin Dor as Helga Brandt in YOLT, Molly Peters as Patricia Fearing in TB. Even CR has an obvious Tier 3 Bond-girl in Ivana Milicevic as Ivanka.
FRWL gets a bit dicey. The film is pretty much the Miss Universe star, Daniela Bianchi-as-Tatiana show.
There are though a of lot of quality memorable small-part girls, that stand out, such as Nadja Regin as Kerim's mistress, and Martine Beswick and Aliza Gur, as Zora and Vida, the gypsy fighting girls.
OHMSS tier 3 would be Catherine Von Schell as Nancy from Piz Gloria. LALD we are talking Madeline Smith as Miss Caruso, TMWTGG, Carmen Sautoy as Saida.
DAF is tough. Like FRWL, I think we are lacking solid tier 3, but still we have memorable small-part roles, such as Denise Perrier as Marie ("I'd like you to get something off your chest") and of course Lola Larson and Trina Parks as Bambi and Thumper.
TSWLM is tricky as there are so many candidates. I would go with Olga Bisera as Felicca (blown away in Bond's arms by Sandor) but you could make the case for the lovely Sue Vanner as treacherous Log Cabin Girl.
Moonraker is Emily Bolton as Manuela. I think she beats out Anne Lonnberg and Irka Borchenko as the two most prominent Drax Girls.
OP, would be Tina Hudson as fellow-agent Bianca from the pts. Honorable mention to the bevy of OP girls as a collective.
FYEO I don't think would warrant, as I really don't want to include Lyn Holly Johnson, as she was playing, "too young" for Bond. If eligble, I think she would actually bump Cassandra Harris as Lisl, out of the tier 2 status I awarded her, as Johnson has a bigger role in the film.
AVTAK is clearly Fiona Fullerton as Pola Ivanova, and we still haven't got to Alison Doody as Jenny Flex or Mary Stavin as Kimberly Jones (Mi6 ice-flow pilot).
The Dalts films are a tad tricky. TLD barely has a #2 but we do have Virginia Hey's brief scene as Rubavitch, and Catherine Rabbett and Dulice Liecier as Felix Leiter's fellow agents. The latter three, though I would be inclined to include in memorable small part category, which is effectively tier 4 and beyond.
LTK, I guess we have to go with Priscilla Barnes as Della, even if she is that rare hands-off girl for Bond.
To the Bond-girl aficionado Tier 3 is a no-brainer. There are lots of worthy candidates as well as many beyond Tier 3.
Eg, we all know and love Christina Cole as Ocean Club receptionist in CR, yet she's no higher than Bond-girl 4th billing in that film.
The Brozzer films do spill over with bounty.
We have Serena Gordon as Caroline, although I think she would get voted out pretty quick. But things pick up with TND, and Cecilie Thomsen as the famous (cunning linguist) Professor Inga Bergstrom of Oxford, or is it Cambridge.
TWINE takes us at least 5 deep. Its really a toss-up. Might have to include both Maria Grazia Cucinotta as Cigar Girl and of course Serena Scott Thomas as Molly Warmflash.
DAD features the incomparable Rachel Grant as Peaceful Fountains of Desire.
The pickings are slim in the last two non-Martin Campbell Craig offerings. Hopefully Mendes might up the offerings in the next film.
The closest to a legit tier-3, I think might be Oona Chaplin as the Perla de las Dunas receptionist, brutalized by Medrano, and rescued by Camille, or Stana Katic as Corrine.
Both Chaplin and Katic moved on to very accomplished feature roles in TV's Game of Thrones and Castle respectively.
QoS really did feaure some quality lower Bond-girl casting, but for our purposes I don't think either Chaplin or Katic quite rank as actual tier 3, but rather as memorable small-part Bond girls.
As for SF, fugget about it. Tonia Sotiropoulou has virtually no presence.
Gorgeous I am sure, if we could get a proper look at her. The Heinekin product placement, sharing the bed with her and Craig, got better coverage.
Mendes really does need to pick it up with the next film. Not only does he underuse the gorgeous Marlohe in favour of Dench as lead Bond-girl, but Eve turns out to be Moneypenny. Sheesh. Bond-girl fans should have all got a rebate for SF.
Again I am happy to cobble together a quality Tier 3 list, as @benny suggested a few pages back, when the time comes.
Although, maybe, in the short term, I might start a simpler rankings thread. Put the candidates out there and see how they "stack" up rankings wise.
For appreciators and aficionados of the Bond-girl ranks, tier 3 is a no brainer.
Maybe I'll start a Bond-girlologist blog :x and pen essays, and plaster it with photos and features, if @dragonpol doesn't mind the lift of the "-ologist" tag.

If so, please define what constitutes the finale of each film, as it is all rather vague and up for personal interpretation.

Not to nitpick, but if films like OP and TWINE gets "Circus showdown/Palace Attack/Aeroplane Fight" and "Zukovsky attacks/Bond shoots Elektra and Bond vs Renard" respectively, why can't lets say the helicopter chase and Bond vs Klebb be included in FRWL? And Bond vs Goldfinger?

Because, as @SKOH mentioned in an earlier post, the OP and TWINE examples are one fluid sequence.

I will reduct the "circus showdown" from Octopussy, however, as that happens a day or so before the events in India.
