    We need to get more people to vote.

    @DarthDimi, I think that because this is your discussion, you should change the title to reflect that we are voting for the next elimination game so that we get more of the people who usually participate in elimination games to vote here.

    Exactly. That's why I haven't been voting. It needs to be a +1, -2 elimination game to work.

    Lets say the first game to reach 7 points gets the go-ahead. Like any other game we play, you may vote once per day...

    We could also narrow it down to three once this gets voted out. Vote a day makes things difficult without defining an end date and lends itself to people who vote most often rather than what the general consensus wants.

    Okay, I've just gone through all of the films and I wanted to give everyone an idea of what this would look like. I also am asking for suggestions to help put this together. All opinions are welcome. If anyone is interested of course!

    I think that it should just be a conversation between Bond and a villain because otherwise the possibilities are endless. What needs to be decided is whether every film has to be represented and/or if one film can have more than one candidate.

    Interesting Conversation With A Villain
    DN - Dinner with the Doctor
    FRWL - On your knees with Grant
    GF - Golf with GF? / Laser Scene? / Mint Juleps at the ranch?
    TB - Lunch at Palmyra with Largo (possibly Fiona in the hotel room, king and country?)
    YOLT - Meeting with Osato? / In Brandt's cabin? / Blofeld's big reveal?
    OHMSS - Merry Christmas 007 with Blofeld
    DAF - Double Jeopardy Mr. Bond with Blofeld (Klaus Hergesheimer might be funny though)
    LALD - Quite Revealing with Mr. Big/Dr. Kananga (With Tee Hee on the croc farm is good too)
    TMWTGG - Lunch with Scaramanga (although the first meeting is nice too)
    TSWLM - Mr. Sterling visits Mr. Stromberg on Atlantis

    We could just have everyone vote on the options that received more than one vote (which were Gadgets, Villain's Death, and Scenes with Q the first time around + Novels on the second).

    @pachazo I'm not seeing anything wrong with your list. Looking forward to getting that game off the ground. I wont get too excited, but OP would seemingly have a chance of getting somewhere in that game.

    These had the most votes and this method of elimination by rounds of voting works. In the future however, we should ideally start this process when one of the two running elimination games is nearing the end, say the final 5, because right now we only have one elimination game going and this process is taking a while. I'd also like a MOD maybe to come in and put their stamp of approval on all this or something so that we all feel that this process has become official. I'm looking at you @DarthDimi because after all this is your discussion...

    Official Elimination Game Selection Process:

    1) When to start voting:
    When one of the two in progress elimination games reaches 5 final options to vote on, the process for selecting a new elimination game to replace it shall begin.

    2) Voting Stage 1:
    Once it has been determined that a new elimination game must be selected, the master list of proposed elimination games will be assembled and posted here. Members will then be asked to give one vote for the game they want to play most. This will last for 24 hours.

    3) Voting Stage 2:
    After 24 hours of voting stage 1, ideally there will be about 10 or fewer games that will have received votes. At this point, all games without a vote will be discarded for selection at another time, and only the ten or fewer receiving votes will move on. With this narrower set of games we shall vote again for 48 hours, and in that time members will be allowed to vote once per 24 hours.

    4) Final Voting Stage:
    After 48 hours of voting stage 2, the 4 games with the most votes will become the finalists, and the other 6 games will be discarded for selection at another time. This set of 4 will then be voted upon by members for 24 hours, one vote per day. If at the end of 24 hours there is a tie between two finalists, those two games will be voted upon for another 24 hours, and at the end of that time, the game with the most votes will become the next elimination game. At this time it will become the responsibility of the person who proposed the elimination game to get it up and running, ideally within another 24 hours after the finalist is chosen, that is unless there are still two elimination games still in progress, in which case they will wait until one of those games finishes to begin the new elimination game.

    5) Proposing Elimination Games:
    As always, members are free to propose new elimination games in this discussion at all times, and they are encouraged to use this discussion as a way to advertise their ideas. However, in order to preserve the voting process, it will be asked that members refrain from proposing new games while we are in an active voting period.



    This is my proposal for the official rules. I welcome others ideas and criticisms alike. Just tell me what you guys think and if we get this to where we can all agree on it, we'll finally have an organized way of doing this.

    I understand that this isn't ideal but I'm trying to fix what was a flawed process. The big issue is that not enough people are over here voting. I just posted a link in the active game encouraging people to come here and vote. I appreciate your concern @Thunderfinger but I'm doing the best I can. If you have a better plan I'm willing to hear it. The problem is that no one was coming forward to try and change this selection process and I finally had enough and tried to change things up...

    Appreciate your taking the initiative, @sirseanisbond, but the problem is we're having three rounds of voting now. Most folks here won't have the interest or the tolerance for three rounds of voting. It is admittedly excessive.

    I've gotten the nod from a mod to kick off the Q game so I'll start that on Sunday, and I'm sure we can collectively figure out an effective and concise way of choosing the next game as the Main Titles game winds to a close.

    Sometimes the simplest methods are the best. The more steps you add the less people will be able to engage in the process. I think the current process is mostly fine besides the lack of participation.

    My recommendation would be:

    1. Hold an initial vote: If this vote results in a supermajority for one option, that selection can be approved to begin.
    2. Final vote: If there is no supermajority, include the top two selections (plus any that are within 1 vote) with a simple majority being approved to begin.

    And that is basically what has occurred here.

    Though out of date, the OP does not seem to indicate whether there has been a Best Soundtrack elimination game. I would be willing to oversee it if it has not already been given a game.

    I've never ventured onto this thread before but was just thinking the other day with the discussions on the Spectre teaser poster and it's comparison with the other DC films a vote for the best Bond poster could be interesting. Especially with the old classic illustrative montages of SC versus new the photoshop moody style photography.
