The image in the My emotions! thread, which showed the code for the emojis, is no longer displaying. We are once again without ability to cartoonishly emote.

Noticed that as well. I'd use the disappointed emoji, if I could remember what the damn thing was.

I found this through Google image search. They don't all work, but it's something.

    I suggest using words.

I prefer words as well, but sometimes an emoji can soften what would otherwise come across as a harsh comment. And I find this; =)) to be much less annoying than "lol".

I use them because it's annoying to be accused of being combative or offending when you're actually delivering a joke. There's sadly not a lot of room for nuance in text conversations these days, so visuals help a lot if meaning could get lost.

That neatly encapsulates how I view them too, though I used to frown on them years ago I'm sure. With them not being on the post field any more I don't really use them as much. However, that is probably a good thing as I can try better to convey my meaning with words.

Anyway, glad to see them made available again for all members to access easily.

They help to show that a comment is in jest rather than a personal attack,so they are very handy.

Probably why I come off as an ass in some of my posts. Par for the course!

Our words only account for 7% of the information in conveying a message. So anything that
Helps the reader understand the meaning of what someone has written, can only be a good
    Thing.

Daniel Craig will be on the Colbert show tomorrow. He'll most certainly be promoting Logan Lucky but there's also a chance he might reveal something about Bond, though I seriously doubt it. They aren't going to make any big announcements on a TV show.

Yes, it is a little weird. Rest assured we have our best man on to it.
