Not sure if this is really news, but...

Hmm, so which ones of the Craig era has he done? I thought they were all mindblowing in their own unique ways, Skyfall being #1 but QoS was rather dull, just sand and that compass-looking thing over and over.

He did all of them except QoS. MK12 did that, at Marc Forster’s request.

QoS is the only one he didn't do. That was courtesy of Mk12.

I really like how engaged and excited Rami Malek comes across in interviews.
I get that he's not going to be negative toward a film he's in before (or after) it's come out. But he seems genuinely happy that he's in a James Bond film. I hope his time and character are as good as many of us hope.
Though in fairness, the entire cast so far seems positive about their experience on NTTD. Hopefully that translates into the finished product. Guess we'll find out in April.

So Daniel Kleinman's confirmed for the title sequence...

Can't say I'm really excited about that. Loved his sequences starting with LTK up to Casino Royale, but they've become busier with the last two. I'd love it if the titles for NTTD were more minimalistic akin to his earlier work (especially LTK and GE) but I doubt it.

    He didn't do LTK.

Ah! I realized it after I posted... I was thinking about the music video for LTK which he did do.

Hmmm. I'd say the SF titles is among the very best in the franchise.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree. With the title song, it works...but I don't know, I miss the sexiness of the title sequences of the past. I enjoyed the ideas and imagery of SF but they're messy.

After the excitement of the trailer and that extremely expensive titanium Bond watch reveal, i totally forgot that we don't know who is doing the main title song.. Lol...

Agree 100%. I watched many of the cast's Spectre interviews and there's just a different vibe this time. Rami does seem genuinely excited for us to see what they've been up to, and he seems like a really great dude. I have high hopes for Safin, Rami comes off as though he had a blast.

Going back to them modeling porton down I think that is the final place where the showdown is and Spectre has created a new disease that will kill the whole planet because its uncurable and Spectre stole the only stuff that is resistant to this disease I know it's far fetched but it makes sense with the trying to be God line. It's got to do something with kill off the planet we haven't had a plot like that in a long time. I bet that last shot of Bond is significant in some way in the trailer. Maybe the last shot replaces the gunbarrel sequence being put at the end.

    I agree.

Hoping Adele comes back for No Time To Die.

I like the disease/chemical poisoning aspect. It's scary AF and really bodes well for making a plausible larger-than-life plot. Honestly, I'm surprised they havent used it more. I mean, OHMSS and MR are about it.

I imagine Mendes had a lot of say with those titles, since SF and SP were almost identical in their approach and so different from what Klienman had done before.

I don't think there's any cause for concern re science fiction elements. In Cary I trust. He has impeccable taste and clearly understands the Bond franchise. We're very lucky to have him onboard. Denis Villeneuve next please...

I thouht Binder did the titles for LTK and Kleinman did the pop video for the Glady Knight song.

I liked Kleinman's CR titles. A bit different from the Bond norm.

His last 2 efforts were okay but perhaps just a bit too CGI. It would be nice if they tried some more old school techniques.

There’s. behind the scenes video you can watch of the Skyfall titles sequence and a lot of very traditional filmmaking techniques are used. Not a ton of CGI at all. Spectre did use a lot of CG for sure though!

I have to agree. While I do enjoy Kleinman's work on Skyfall and Spectre, his visuals for both film's act as cliff notes for the rest of the movie. It shows too much imagery from the film.

Very much agree, especially with Skyfall

I think Kleinman should design & direct the titles, the way he did for GE, TND, TWINE & CR. I've always felt those titles had a sort of Gargantuan feel about them....which I think is Great for Bond.

I disagree with you. SF has the best PTS of the Craig era so far, together with the one for CR. And I used to not like the latter (and the song). But after a "critical re-evaluation", both made sense to me ;-)

I’d love a real minimalist Saul Bass esque titles sequence. A bit like the one for Casino Royale.

Interesting interview with Rami Malek- states he is NOT playing Dr No for anyone still speculating!

As someone stated previously - @Thunderfinger, I think - there are overlaps in a series of this breadth. It’s to be expected. Certain characters echo others.
  • Random idea regarding the villain plot: could it be that Safin steals a virus that kills only certain type of people based on genetics?
I notice there is one seen at the spectre party where several people seem to he gased but it does not affect Bond.
Also this would relate to Bond mentioning "playing God".
Would be very similar to the MR plotand I would appreciate a more serious attempt at that villain scheme

    He's playing Safin.

Not just that he's not playing Dr. No...Rami goes out of his way to mention that. The interview does not bring up Dr. No, Rami does out of the blue.

This is key and is VERY different than everybody specifically asking Waltz if he was playing Blofeld and he has to play coy and say no .

That said how cool of a guy is Rami Malek? Seems like he's super excited to be part of this and is proud of what he's done. Can't wait.
