I honestly think the "knee" phrase is the best part of the trailer. THIS is exactly what I want to see.
Fascinating to realise that some people (fans?) dont seem to get the very essence of the Bond character, and the reason for the success of the series over the decades: Bond always rises to meet a challenge, and he is at the top of his game when these challenges come across as verbal battles with girls, allies, henchmen, femme fatales or the villains (did anyone question that Goldfinger comes across as intellectual superior to Bond with his plan??).

I feel that some people project their own insecurity on Bond, and are afraid that a strong woman could overshadow Bond or put his leading role at risk.
I find it borderline fascist if finding something not entertaining or fun is equalled to insecurities.

As for the knee phrase: Why in the world would Bond´s knees be screwed up so much? I could halfway accept Silva making a remark about knees, since he came across as a bit excentric and insane, so he could say a lot of things and get away with them. But repeating the insinuation here seems pretty dumb. Bond when on duty has short periods of intensive physical stress, usually followed by periods of at least several months where he can recover and work out. So why the f should any of his body parts not be in good shape? And even if we would assume that 00s lead such a devastating life that in their early 50s they need crutches, it comes still across as rather dumb if Nomi says it to Bond, because being a 00 herself it means she ridicules her own future.
Because Craig injured his ankle and he might have a slight limp during production why not write in something about a injured knee?????????
How original and funny. As if anyone outside this illustrious conversation knew or cared about Craig injuring his ankle during shooting. Even I didn´t think of Craig´s ankle injury in months. Yeah, great idea to bring it up again.

It was in the papers for quite a while.

Even for months after it happened...

Even in articles that had nothing to do with it.

For example, you'd read things like:

"Cars will feature in the upcoming James Bond film, NO TIME TO DIE, which has already seen numerous setbacks following Daniel Craig breaking his ankle. They fear he'll never walk again."

Another question about Safin. How do you think Safin will be received by audiences worldwide? Do you think that he wears a mask people will be turned off and say "too weird" or even "too frightening"?

For the first time in the Group's history, two CMA CGM vessels were mobilized for the production of the blockbuster: CMA CGM FORT SAINT GEORGES (2,260 TEU) and CMA CGM FORT DE FRANCE (3,504 TEU). A dozen sailors from CMA CGM FORT SAINT GEORGES and their Captain also took part, and nearly 1,000 containers were included in the shoot in [Jamaica].

First photo from another action piece filmed in Jamaica which has been little discussed, other than I think a tweet and photo from a delivery driver of seeing a stunt being filmed around shipping containers at Pinewood. Interesting.

Sailors from the vessel Fort Saint Georges, huh. I did a double-take on that one.

Who thinks Safin is being set up as a Bane-like red herring? The real villain turns out to be Blofeld who was simply using him to hatch his master of a master plan? On one hand it may diminish Safin, but on the other hand it makes Blofeld glitter as the final boss of the craig verse. Because otherwise it feels a bit nutty that the biggest bad of the Craig tenure is not blofeld but .....some guy when we were told Blofeld was the 'author of all Bond's pain".

I believe that Safin is a former cammando turned industrialist, with a team of agents at his disposal. Whether it is a small team of specialists. Or a massive worldwide army. Is he the master of this game, or is Blofeld. We shall have to see. This is my thoery of who Safin is. Industrialist. Wealthy. Deadly. Special forces trained perhaps a former middle eastern freedom fighter.

A few weeks ago I was accused of "hysteria" when merely pointing out that Bond films don't have to be kid-friendly. But what is this Lashana thing then if not hysteria? So far, I've read nothing but really positive comments about Lashana. I don't think anyone here is threatened by her presence. We're wasting our breath on perhaps a member or two--at most.

I think she's going to be amazing. I myself am simply not attracted to her, but that's not a big issue since I'm not attracted to Camille or Paris or Triple-X either. I can still love a character, a performance, a presence. And I'm sure I'll enjoy everything Lashana brings to NTTD. But I don't have to call her a good-looking woman if she isn't in my book.

A colleague of mine went berserk when I told her how I felt about Lashana's looks last Friday. "O . M . G! You're only saying that because she's BLACK!" I'm sorry, what? I think Sissy Spacek is an unattractive woman; I find Shelley Duvall flat-out ugly. So now I don't like my own skin colour either? What does one have to do with the other? Talk about 'hysteria'. Also, my dark-skinned girlfriend had to laugh hard when I told her.

That doesn't mean I cannot respect an actress or appreciate what she brings. But I don't have to resort to "inner beauty" nonsense either. It's showbiz. Looks alone can make a star, even if she or he doesn't have any true acting talent. The opposite is also true; you can be the ugliest person on stage but blow us all away with an amazing performance.

Now, I'm not saying that Lashana is ugly; I just don't find her a very good-looking addition to the realm of Bond girls. That may change, though. Still, don't get angry with me, please. I'm glad she's here and I'm admiring her already. She may end up being one of the best things in NTTD. I've always supported the choice to bring her in. I thought her better than Brie in Captain Marvel, even if Brie is the more attractive one in my book. And this has absolutely nothing to do with skin colour. I've seen lots of '70s flicks with Pam Grier and let me tell you, she a whooole lotta woman; the white girls paled in comparison. (Yeah, pun very much intended.)

But like I said, so far, this forum seems very pleased with Lashana.

From my perspective, I find Lashana attractive sometimes, but less so overall than your average Bond girl. That said, I must stress that: 1)it truly depends of what she wears and how she is presented and 2)as someone said before, she has to look believable as a 00. A manicured supermodel would looks ridiculous as an operative. Yes, Lashana has stronger hips and shoulders, but that's what is expect from a woman in her line of work.

And I'd also add that I find her far more attractive, albeit in an unconventional way, than May Day, Tiffany Case, Way Lin, Christmas Jones, to name just a few.

Regardless of Lynch´s qualification, why do you say a manicured supermodel would look ridiculous as an operative? If we were talking about special forces stuff, then I would very much agree, but isn´t a 00 supposed to gather intelligence very much? In fact, a manicured supermodel probably would have no problem to get into a lot of places and meet a lot of people ordinary men and women wouldn´t get access to at all.
If I´m splitting hair say so ;-).

    Halle is gorgeous, IMO.

She certainly is a stunner. I think she could have been a more convincing kick ass in a better film. She was great in John Wick 3.

That's not to knock Lynch though. She's certainly not ugly, and she seems to be pretty good at the whole armed and dangerous stuff so far.

Or is the other way around?

Berry was terrible as Jinx-- except in the looks department. Very sexy. Someone I'd flirt with, for sure-- nothing dangerous about her. But her sexiness diminished with each stupid thing that came out of her mouth during the film.

Lynch I find extremely attractive, yet someone I'd be very careful about approaching at the bar-- coz she can kick some ass. She sells the power behind each of her moves, so far as the trailer revealed. And the lines she speaks are menacingly flirtatious...

    My two cents.

Yep. Berry needed a better script and a better director to allow her to shine a bit more, because John Wick 3 showed she could certainly pull it off.

Lynch looks like she will succeed where Halle failed. I'm excited to see how Nomi turns out.

Halle looks beautiful as she did when she portrayed Jacinto Jinx Jones. Born on Friday the 13th. I would even dare say she looks better than Ms. Lynch wholooks like the dogs brek! THeyve done it in Star Wars with Rose and now this. Audiences don't want frumpish women or overly masculine women . Especially no room for that in a Bond!

If I´m splitting hair say so ;-).

Well, a 00 must also be able to use firearms and carry on assassinations. I find Lashana a more believable looking operative than say Halle Berry.
You can find lots of small women around the world being well-trained in the use of firearms. She doesn´t have to use a Desert Eagle. James Bond doesn´t.
Assassinations don´t have to go like Bond´s first kill. That one was made to fit CraigBond´s character. A woman could have seduced and poisened the guy for instance. Something James Bond would never be capable of.

I think the key point is pretty much personal flavor more than anything else. I for my part wouldn´t flirt with any of those two. Just not my type. I would flirt with Lupita Nyong´O, or Regina King, or Angela Bassett though. Not to forget Paula Patton, she instantly made me fall in love with her in M:I4. If I weren´t married of course ;-).
