What´s wrong with fastening two buttons when it looks good?

I’m not disputing the flying glider is Cgi. And yes building a cock pit is by no means proof they have actual sized glider.

However it look too well integrated into both the plane hanger set and in the water to not be anything but real.
That´s what CGI would be supposed to look like ;-).

What do you folks think will happen to Blofeld? The movie is 2.5 hours long. How much screentime does he get? Does he stay in jail? Escape? Does Safin or Bond kill him? Does Madeline kill him??

My hunch is that Safin is going to kill him, along with all other SPECTRE agents who don’t join his side.

I wonder how that would take place. Either Safin sends someone to London or wherever Blofeld is, or Blofeld escapes and Safin kills him.

It would cement Safin as a serious threat but might rob Bond of some catharsis I could see it either way.

I disagree on the catharsis part. Bond willingly spared Blofeld at the end of SP, so he doesn’t want to kill him - at least the last time we saw. Kind of reminds me of what happened with Mr. White.

Fair enough. That's a good point and I forgot about that when I wrote the post. He felt killing Blofeld wasn't even worth his time.
I have a feeling that Blofeld won’t be used until the next reboot, simply because of Brothergate.

This is my feeling. Again, EON painted themselves into a bit of corner, narrative-wise, by making the foster-brother angle.

I think it's fair to say it could be quite sometime before we get to see Blofeld again. It's funny how Le Chiffre, Silva & potentially Safin are better Villains than Blofeld. Although, we are yet to see Waltz's performance in NTTD....but whichever way it turns out, I can't see Blofeld returning anytime soon. The mystery Eon are now cooking up for Safin, was what they should have done with Blofeld...being Bond's biggest foe.

Chinese box office matters more to studios than the US. Also, somehow an open letter from two people on MI6 suddenly becomes “all Bond fans”.

I want to be understanding. But November 25th is absolutely devastating. I'm actually near tears here

What a shock. Can't imagine how much money they'll lose since so much has been spent on marketing already.
  • LOL what an amateurs!

Well we're getting the f&cking autumn release date that everyone so dearly missed. Guess we should've taken a page from SF -- "Be careful what you wish for."

Is there any chance the movie turns a profit now? Even if it does well in November.

Also, all signs point to this damn virus re-emerging this Fall when temperatures drop again.

Bond’s finally met his match against a villain the likes of which he’s never encountered before: Coronavirus.
  • Who thinks it would've made more sense to re-release the film in the late summer (July/August) after Coronavirus situation blows over?

Or moreover, have a staggered release date plan for countries most affected by Coronavirus i.e release it here as planned, but release it in Asia in October or something?

I mean its not unusual, the new Star Wars movies premiere in Asia about 2-3 months after their release in West.

I mean I may be in the denial stage of grief or something, but with a marketing campaign already started, this radical change doesnt seem to make much sense to me?

    Coitus interruptus, I would say.

After all that build-up, several promotional campaigns having started, the anticipation suddenly loses all its power. November is 8 months later!

Let's hope we get some excellent behind-the-scenes content to ease the pain.

This is now the 4th release date.

    25 October 2019
    14 February 2020
    2 April 2020
    12 November 2020

Ages ago some people here suggested the Movie Gods might punish EON for their actions. This might be that punishment. :)) On a more serious note, this could be a blessing in disguise. Now they have plenty of time to fine tune the movie. 8 extra months of post-production is something most Bond directors had never even dreamed of!

Just cancel the film at this point.

Can any of our industry friends explain how this makes any sense? I can understand moving back some markets due to the virus but a global delay seems insane.

They must really be expecting the virus to get bad.

I don’t mean to be dramatic, but it’s a result of a worldwide virus that’s claimed the lives of thousands of people. The world is taking precautions to halt the spread of the disease so if the movie is delayed so that there will be a world in November in which everyone is healthy enough to go enjoy the movies, I’m all for it.

I wonder if they'll now redo the theme song & score....especially the song, since it has already been released.
  • Do you think limited engagements will still happen inbetween now and November? If not they have a finished film with expensive sponsorships sitting on a shelf for 8 months

Are they really going to tweak it more or just sit on it since it's likely a finished product by now and not dump even more money into it.
