@mtm Many thanks for sharing the photo. Already have the book on its way, and the pic confirms the Blackwell rum bottle is close to the classic design, and not the squat black bottle released recently.

Heh, a book by an Amis starts to blur the lines slightly between fiction and reality a bit of course! :)
  • That's a great shot!
  • I love any scant instance we get of seeing Bond in his domestic environment, so I’m very excited for this portion of the film (brief as it will likely be). I would kill for the next Bond to start by basically adapting the first section of the Moonraker book where Bond has his morning routine in his flat and does boring paperwork while waiting for a mission lol.

It's really something you only want a hint of though, because they are supposed to be action thrillers.

I am more intrigued by the shirt, which here really does resemble the black untucked silk shirt in Casino Royale:

Definitely, I’m talking like the first 5 minutes after the title sequence just to show the audience who this guy is during his day-to-day and offer a contrast to who he is during missions, which isn’t something that’s really been done before in the films.

I mean you are probably right, but I just want so much of this. I want to see him during routine days at the office. I want his average day. I want everything behind the scenes at MI6. Honestly, the fake Bond idea I have been most exited about in a while is

But I know that this would suck as a large part of the main tentpole movies...

No, it hasn't. In fact, despite media attention to Bond's decadent lifestyle, with food and drink, we rarely see James Bond eat anything. We see him seated at a table with food (DN, the chowder in TB, breakfast in LALD) but off the top of my head, I can think of just one time in which Bond is seen actually eating: the caviar in CR. (INteresting that he orders lamb chops on the train in CR, but again we never actually see him at any of it.) I am sure there might be a couple more, but point is: we see Bond drinking martinis and champagne a heck of a lot more than chewing food. :-)

I enjoyed seeing Bond's flat in SP and thought it was more than just for show. It was a unique peek into his character.
  • Yup. Set and prop design for a character’s living space is an extension *of* that character, and a great way to develop their personality through purely visual means.

What were your impressions of the Black Widow set?
[...] On the other side of the road, my second AD from Three Musketeers was shooting the new Bond movie.

It was funny because Daniel Craig’s wife, Rachel, was in Black Widow. So you would see James Bond cycling through the parking lot from his movie set over to our side of the studio to come and see Rachel. And then you’d hear over the radios, “Is James Bond over there with you? Can we have him back, please?”

I suppose it's a very current example considering the news this week but, Bond having quiche with Stacey Sutton?

Does Bond eat during the meal with Kamal in OP? Stuffed sheeps head. Yummy.

Also I think Bond and Aubergine are eating during their chat, whilst watching the butterflies, in AVTAK.

I like the exhaustive listing but let's try and keep all this contained to this thread (which was never completed or really finalized, so would be nice to have a running list of everything he eats throughout the series, now that I think of it):
