I believe if it comes to that, they might use it to their advantage by promoting it as 60th anniversary.

It's probably because they are holding out for 2022 and the anniversary.

I don’t think they’re holding out to make it an anniversary film. It’s not like EON wanted this to happen.

Yes I think they might not need to lean on it too heavily. It's only two films ago that they were celebrating the 50th; you can't go on about anniversaries all the time. I don't find anniversaries all that interesting to be honest.

I don't see any benefit to waiting for an anniversary either.. like I said in another thread earlier, it would be another example of being beholden to the past. A new Bond film is a big enough deal as if is. If you're not bothered about that, it being an anniversary film won't sway you to see it!

I don't either, TBH. The only anniversary film I enjoyed in terms of an anniversary event was TLD. Mostly due to a new Bond, but the 25th anniversary brought an extra glimmer of excitement.
If 5 year gaps become the norm we may only get a new Bond film during anniversary years. That would get old fast, IMO.

Pretty risky move if so, only a week and a half after the release of M:I7.

Surely people would see both? Will they see MI7 and think "well, I've had enough spy films for a lifetime" and not go see the release of a new Bond?

I feel like people will want to see Bond as well, even if MI7 is really good, or really bad.

It’s kind of like Thanksgiving 1998 when Antz and A Bug’s Life came out. Both made money, and definitely got good reviews (Particularly A Bug’s Life). Read Roger Ebert’s review for ABL for how there’s hope for all movies to do well, even when they’re similar.

    How I miss him.

I certainly will, but it's still competition from a likeminded series. It'll be interesting to see.

Oh wow that is a bit of a clue! Unless the record company have guessed at it I'm surprised they haven't announced it first.

Yeah and I wonder if it’s a matter of licensees being “warned” that the film “may” be delayed again. I realize the vinyl soundtrack isn’t exactly a licensed product, but still...

Not saying this is the case for this film - but generally Bond soundtracks are released a few days before the film hits in cinemas - and if that is the case - this would mean a December release? Nov 30th seems an odd day - being a Tuesday! I'd expect them to be selling the soundtrack on a Monday and the film to open at the weekend (but with special previews a day or two before).

Interesting. I never saw an official release date for the vinyl at all. At the moment, the CD is showing an April 2 release with no release date for vinyl. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places.

Edit: Not at all available through the 007 story or Amazon. But Decca's website does show it. This is curious in itself: why would neither Amazon nor the 007 official store carry it?

    27th March: https://www.007.com/no-time-to-die-soundtrack/
Search for the vinyl and it’s listed as 2nd April.

@jetsetwilly I simply reiterated what scientists and public health professionals are saying. And you are saying I am either a troll or insane? Wow! Anyway, back on topic...

@Mendes4Lyfe No, they are not holding out for 2022. The movie will probably get delayed again, if they are brave, then to summer, if they are more cautious, then to the usual autumn release date.

I had to reorder Taschens 'The James Bond Archives' NTTD edition, after they postponed it from last year. It says it will be available in April!

As the writer of the book has confirmed that there are spoilers for NTTD in there, you can bet it will get pushed back a second time. They just haven't gotten a new date from MGM yet.
Forgive me if I upset anyone with this, but the chances of NTTD releasing in April are slim to nil.

Oh, I agree. Am expecting them to cancel again.
Definitely dont think we are going to see NTTD until end of the year! And thats probably optimistic!

I don't think anyone is upset by this: you are right. It seems unrealistic. I am just holding out hope that it won't be moved all the way back to November. My fingers are crossed for mid-summer.

IMDb Pro has updated the release date of NTTD to November 2021.

IMDb still lists the release date as April 2021.
