  • The track at 17:20… holy smokes… THAT sounds like the Zimmer Bond score I’ve always wanted.

I'm starting it now! Will keep an ear out.
Already a new track at 2:11. Feel a very tropical.
    6.06 sounds new
7.25 so many nice Bond motifs
    17.20 is beautiful, very sweeping

A very classic sounding score...very big Barry/Arnold vibes which is exciting!!!

It sounds like an epic love theme! So excited.

Was just coming on here to say that. It sounds fantastic.
  • I was multitasking listening to the episode at that point not paying full attention but that cue came in and gave me goosebumps.

No Time to Die: James Bond fans complain as it’s revealed 163-minute film will be longest 007 entry ever

“Why is the new James Bond movie 2 hours 43 minutes long,” wrote one Twitter user. “Does that include a cocktail break. did they add another minute for every week of delays.”

“I don’t know whether to be excited or dreadful about No Time To Die being almost 3 hours long,” wrote someone else.

There’s plenty of dumb people on Twitter. NTTD is a couple of minutes shorter than The Dark Knight Rises. What’s the problem I don’t know.

Based on Bond being the only one rescued from the sinking ship, it seems they really will kill off Felix. Not a deal-breaker for me, but I don't see why you can't just leave him maimed, out of action, and stay true to the original stories.

Feels like with movies lately the only way writers know of getting an emotional response from an audience is by killing a beloved character.

If that does turn out to be the case, I will probably be ranking NTTD at the bottom spot.

They killed off M. I don’t see the problem in that idea as long as it’s done well.

    This!
No time to die is "TDKR" of the bond universe, an epic culmination of story and character development.
And if they do kill off a major character, I imagine it will be handled correctly and give Bond the motivation to go forth. I doubt we're going to get another Mathis in the trash can scene (and I love that scene). Craigs bond has always been plagued by tragedy and loss no matter how hard he tries to leave it behind, NTTD is culminating that so I expect huge stakes in the personal loss department.

Do we think we will see bond aboard the ship.

Apparently only 2nd unit crew was sent aboard according to recent production notes

(Wishful thinking? Maybe I just want to see Craig don the Commander Uniform lol)

I find the actual quote from her worse.
“We are in a place in time where the industry is not just giving audiences what it thinks the audience wants. They’re actually giving the audience what they want to give the audience. With Bond, it could be a man or woman. They could be white, black, Asian, mixed race. They could be young or old. At the end of the day, even if a two-year-old was playing Bond, everyone would flock to the cinema to see what this two-year-old’s gonna do, no?” the Captain Marvel star said.

Perhaps I'm too cynical (although I do not think so), but it seems that now more than ever the industry is focused on what they perceive the audience to want, to maximize profits. And no, Lashana, I wouldn't go watch a 2 year old play James Bond.

I think the difference for me is
that it's an existing plot point in the books and movies that Felix nearly dies, but is left maimed. I would much prefer if they just bring that back in the Craig era rather than kill him off to get some tears out of the audience. Bond can most definitely still be angered and affected by that.

A fake-out death of Felix could be interesting. What if he appeared dead and lost in the earlier scene that came back to help MI6 towards the end?

I think this type of outrage media is a given in Bond, especially surrounding the women. Think of all the last times they announced spinoffs, changes to Bond and such? It's happened with every movie since the 90s. Every new bond girl is 'not like the other girls'. Every action bond girl is going to get her own spinoff. Every new Bond is going to show off a new side of Bond. Just learn to block it out at this point.

Sure, it's distasteful to read and reeks of pandering, but unless EON goes completely off the deep end, it's all speculative fluff and is never going to happen.

Based on my understanding of the production notes shared earlier, it seems the destroyer is used to attack Safin's lair. It makes me think they will go for a TSWLM-style sequence, where Bond must get out before the base is destroyed. Given it's Craig's final film, I think he might be missing, presumed dead (perhaps the blast doors closing above him were the only way out in time?).

Halfway through the production notes. Boy there’s a lot of cool stuff to unpack.
    - M is indirectly responsible for the developing of Safin’s weapon: “M has compromised himself by developing a secret program that he thinks will be for the good of the country.
But the scientist he’s filched from the Russians and engaged to develop this program has gone rogue and turned it into something horrific and dangerous. M has unwittingly developed something that got out of hand. It is M’s questionable decision-making that sees him turn to Bond. He needs MI6’s best agent to return and help to right the wrong”.

    - They confirm that the frozen lake cabin is Mr. White’s family house, so he was supposed to live there with his wife and daughter. This ties with the “I hate guns” story from SP and when White points out that his wife “left long ago” perhaps he didn’t want to say the truth to Bond, that she was actually killed.

    - Safin’s liar is blown up by the Royal Navy’s ship as seen in the trailers. Corbould hopes to set another “biggest explosion” record just like SP did.
