He runs the Bond Experience website. One of things on the website they specialise in, is the clothes Bond wears in the films hence his sartorial question.
Nice one! I wonder if the artist saw his work in my collection:
Thank you, my friend. I've enjoyed your posts too, as well as those by many other members here. My contribution was relatively small - my main interest being merchandise and items seen in the film. I must admit it was disheartening and surprising to get zero love for a couple of NTTD props I showed on this thread, specifically some custom things I built and painted to share with everyone - these exclusives that at the time were (and probably still) seen nowhere else on the internet. So, to get a shout out at the end of it all makes up for that. Much appreciated, brother. :)>-
Must says your contributions have always been very much appreciated in this thread. Some interesting findings, nicely recreated props and insight info as well, - like Blofeld's bionic eye or the vial with red serum you shared here some time ago. Have you actually recreated them or are only at a 'designing' process?
So, kudos for what you have done!
Will post some concept art here once everyone's seen the film.
Thanks again for the entertainment, I'll hang a round for a few more weeks reading people's thoughts on the film and then I'll probably vanish as I wouldn't call myself a Bond fan but I've been a fan of other things and decided reading this thread knowing what I knew would be fascinating, and it was.
"Success of the man from uncle is irrelevant here." Easier to say when it is not your hundreds of millions of dollars being laid on the line. Had more people agreed with you that Cavill was handsome, suave, smooth, and could handle guns and ladies -- he was not depicting a pedophile, right ? - then the film might have been more successful. Yes, there are reasons to find that the level of success of a film in which an actor portrays an international spy and operative is relevant. It is clear you like Cavill. As do I - I've enjoyed pretty much everything in which he's appeared that I've seen. But in casting Bond, hmmm...
* EDIT: Oops... Didn't notice this had already been posted.
A few new shots of the Astons in NTTD for those who haven't seen the film yet.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Longest-Cocktail-Party-Insiders-Million-dollar/dp/1841956023 - is this one a joke?!
One of them looks like this one:
https://www.abebooks.com/first-edition/CENTRAL-AMERICAN-WEST-INDIAN-ARCHAEOLOGY-Joyce/30610623500/bd
However, the binding clearly says "CENTRAL AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGY" Unless Archaeology is something else. I only got it from reading "Joyce" as my other clue.
This one is there too:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Fontana-Dictionary-Modern-Thought/dp/0006863833
And this one:
https://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/architecture/all/03441/facts.zaha_hadid_complete_works_1979today_2020_edition.htm
There's one that looks like "In _something_ Ships At Sea" It looks like it begins with a C. But I can't identify it past that.
There's also another one that I cant identify. The top of the book says ARC in red letters and then on the spin "The something Ages" I'm going to guess "The Great Ages" but I could be wrong.
Aha! Found it in another image though this isn't the same cover as the one Bond owns:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Great-Arc-Dramatic-Mapped-Everest/dp/0006531237
I also spotted Africa Adorned by Angela Fisher:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Africa-Adorned-Angela-Fisher/dp/0810918234
There's a book called Practising Yoga in view too. It's precisely this one on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Practising-Yoga-Mind-body-spirit/dp/1855343770/ref=sr_1_45?dchild=1&keywords=practising+yoga&qid=1633457699&sr=8-45
There's one hardcover that looks like some kind of interior design book, but the font is too hard for me to read. It looks like "Pleasing" or something as the first word. But can't work out the second as the font is too hard to identify.
There's a thin, large black book that looks like it says "Jamaican" and then something. But I can't identify the next word. It's a three letter word though. I thought maybe Way or Bay but Google doesn't pick up anything.
The green book underneath that is this one (this is a different cover):
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Guerrillas-V-S-Naipaul/dp/0330522914/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=guerillas+v.+s.+naipaul&qid=1633458234&qsid=257-8580609-3070260&s=books&sr=1-4&sres=354860238X,0676975062,0330522914,B002RI90E0,B013EUEPM6&srpt=ABIS_BOOK
I've also spied a book which looks like it's by Georges Simenon - but the title is obscured. It's a hardback, thick and sturdy, black in colour.
My friend helped me identify this one under Bond's desk (where he has an assortment of maps):
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Frogs-Toads-World-Chris-Mattison/dp/0713718250
I can also see a magazine. Says Foxsquare on it. Christoper at the top. Ta just underneath.
There's also another book that is an architecture book. It's grey. All I can read is "architecture" though.
There's a book called the Carbon Crunch. I found this one on Amazon but it's not the same cover as the one Bond has:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Carbon-Crunch-Getting-Climate-Change/dp/0300197195
Underneath Practising Yoga (It's getting real hard now!) I believe he also has this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/History-Beads-000-B-C-Present/dp/0810907364
I think, and I'm not 100% sure.. But the image where you see Bond's kitchen. There's a white hardback at the back and it looks like it says Cruising. Could it be this one?:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruising_(novel)
I think I've also spied this one by his stereo:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/End-Night-Searching-Darkness-Artificial/dp/0007428200/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
And this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Early-Days-Miss-Read/dp/0752882201
Also the make up is vastly different in the opening scene.
I thought it was..
Not sure this is the thread for that...
True. "Minor Spoilers" or "Possible Spoilers!" in the thread titles are pointless, really; just say if the thread is allowed to have spoilers or not.
Haha
Think it will always be the Casino Royale DBS for me. I'd have The DB5 and Nomi's superleggera joint second.
So he does always smile too much. ;)
I was unfamiliar with him until NTTD.
