What, not a fan of the blue onesie or orange turtleneck under tan jacket?
Those 2, the Toy Story movies, and Up are probably my favorites of the Pixar movies, although I like them all, minus Cars 2 and 3.
This was a unique experience when it came out. Especially the race scene, where you really felt like you were there, and felt the movements physically. QOS, eat your heart out. So much thought and care went into it, during an orchestra scene for instance, every finger is on the right place on every instrument. It s a classic masterpiece that I never tire of, and I love it more for every viewing.
A Van Damme / Prison film. Being a film set in a Prison, at times it's an uncomfortable film to watch. Also the 3rd of 3 JCVD films directed by Ringo Lam, the other two being Maximum Risk and Replicant.

Still one of the best super hero movies. The best part of Kamen s score is for the end credits. Halle Berry should always have her hair like this.
Guardians of the Galaxy IMAX Enhanced I really enjoyed this rewatch, one of my favourite Marvel films consistently funny with emotional depth, a whole lot of fun.
4K this was fantastic. Bill is a legend.

The Suicide Squad
:)) This film does not pull any punches, dark twisted and utterly stupid. It was fun, much better than the first film.
I tought this was too long in the cinema, but it doesn t seem so bad now. True to the book or not, this is an achievement, and the cast is very good. And that score!
I had fun watching the three. I've watched each twice now, but you couldn't pay me to watch the extended cuts. I just don't have that level of interest.
When I watched this in the cinema I recall thinking to myself this is one of the greatest films of all time when the Argonath appears when they are on The Great River.
Fellowship of the Ring is actually the film that got me to take a real appreciation for fantasy as a genre. I had seen any number of fantasy films growing up but had never considered fantasy "my thing" the way I did science fiction or James Bond. Even after being recommended FOTR, I resisted seeing it—until at last I caught it playing on TV, cropped and on a rather small screen, and then I was hooked. As you say, @Thunderfinger, the cast, the performances, and especially Howard Shore's music all draw you right into the experience. I did find Return of the King a pretty interminable watch—to this day it's my least favorite of the three—but I consider the first two real cinematic accomplishments.
There are scenes in the extended versions that are really, really great, but there's also some filler that throws the pacing of the films off. Fellowship of the Ring was the most perfect of the three in its theatrical cut. There's really no need to watch the extended version of that one. The Two Towers and especially Return of the King (rather ironically given how overly long it already feels) benefit most from their additional scenes. But it's interesting to note that Peter Jackson considers the theatrical cuts his ideal versions of these films. The extended versions weren't director's cuts, just something for the fans.
That is indeed an awe-inspiring moment. Back in 2002, when I first saw it, it was simply stunning what they were able to accomplish visually. From there until the end of the film, that whole climax battling the orcs in the forest, was what sold me on Lord of the Rings.
From this image alone you can tell how much thought and attention to detail went into this. I'd never heard of it before, but I'll give it a watch!
I wanted to like this one more than I did. While there were a few genuinely funny moments (the millennial confused by the projector was a great one), there were just too many attempts at humor that fell flat for me. King Shark had his moments, but he was ultimately a clone of baby Groot. The Harley Quinn escape scene was great fun, but the giant starfish attack was embarrassing. Loved Elba’s Bloodsport and Ratcatcher 2 was the emotional heart of this film, but Peacemaker as a character didn’t resonate with me the same way he clearly must have with others. Given the hype, I was pretty let down by this one and left feeling weirdly nostalgic for Suicide Squad (2016), as much of a cutting room mess as that film was.
I later went on to cover Tolkien at A level and degree as well as the Volsunga Saga's that helped inspire his work. My favourite movies as a kid were films like Excalibur and Conan the Barbarian so when Lord of the Rings was announced I was very excited.
I have the Extended Box sets for the three films, the extended versions are far superior IMO. I have the Hobbit Extended boxset also which is flawed though has improved over time for me.

I probably enjoy these films more now than I did back then, and I enjoy them more than the books.Everything is still great in this one, but I found myself missing the "One ring to rule them all" theme. Magnificent piece of music. I wish Peter Jackson made a Conan movie.
My stepfather who loves bond came over and as the party continued i kept putting in different bond films lol
Live and let die genuinely love this film Moore is strong rom the get go and I love the music
The Man with the golden gun: this one is weak but there is still enjoyment I kind of wish they just had the balls to have a Bond vs Scaramanga plot without Hifat and the energy crisis
Tomorrow Never Dies: I find myself enjoying this film more and more as the years go by is it brilliant no but its so fun in fact it is so fun I have revaluated Cavill for bond sure he isnt an actor's actor like Dalton or Craig but screw it he would bring back the fun
The living daylights: I love this film and I love Dalton I dont get why so many dislike him as bond.

@Some_Kind_Of_Hero , I agree that this isn t quite up there with the first two. It does have its moments, but definitely a drop.
It was the norm for successful TV sitcoms to get a big screen treatment back in the day! This is probably the best of them, which isn't saying much, but I'm biased, as Porridge was my own favourite show! The late great Ronnie Barker plays Norman Stanley Fletcher, who, along with his cell mate, Lenny Godber, get caught up in an escape attempt by another prisoner. Its no classic, and is just like an extended episode, but its filmed in a real prison, and it does have some funny scenes, and Barkers superb comic timing.....

The CGI felt a bit rougher here (perhaps because they were using so much more of it) and the editing felt looser and more indulgent (perhaps because it was the final one and Peter Jackson just didn't want it to end). There also weren't quite as many interesting character moments here as there were in the first two (perhaps because the whole movie was battles upon battles upon battles). The battles were indeed spectacular, but I find less of interest here than in the first two.

Well, finished up for the hols today, and I brought 4 of my Service users to this, as most of them had been asking me for the past few weeks! I think some were a little put off by the length, and the emotional stuff ( if you think NTTD had too much, they lay it on in layers here!) but they enjoyed the action bits and one of them was enthralled throughout! Me, I was frankly bored by it all, the only saving grace was Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange, only livened up when he appeared imo!
I loved the first 2 Spiderman movies with Tobey Maguire and Directed superbly by Sam Raimi, but I never bothered by these redux films, and if they're anything like this, I made the right decision!

Some brilliant jokes here and there and I had a few laughs. Wicked. But much of this is just dumb, for real.
My annual Christmas watch of this wonderful WW2 thriller! Ron Goodwins fabulous theme always gives me goosebumps, terrific location work in Austria, Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood are a great team, and Director Brian G. Hutton shoots for the spectacular, fabulous action beats helmed by the legendary Yakima Canutt ( one of the reasons Clint signed on for this) and some neat twists in the plot courtesy of thriller writer Alistair McClean! Great stuff, really would have loved to have seen this on the big screen, it was a big hit in its day!
North by Northwest one of my favourite movies and proto Bond, Grant would have made a good Bond IMO.
This is one of Hitchcocks best a culmination of all his other excellent innocent man on the run movies.
Superb cast here Mason is a great villain, being shot in Vistavision the images and colours pop.
Hermann's score is one of the greatest in cinema.
Funny and charming classic.
