This marks my very first vinyl soundtrack.
FRWL should be on the way. I’m looking forward to some of these because my understanding is that with the remastered CDs they fiddled too much with the mixing, so they don’t have the same “punch” as the original vinyl releases do. The one that really struck me was this sample on YouTube for FYEO. Sounds amazing!
I couldn’t find a thread already dedicated to vinyl, but if there is go ahead and close this thread, or merge it. Whatever works.

I’ve collected FRWL-LALD at this point. Took a break from collecting because I had to move, and a bunch of other errands took precedence. I haven’t even took the time to sit through DAF and LALD.
I only started collecting back in September because at the time my dad passed away and one of the things I kept of his is a Technics turntable that he had since 1980, which he kept in excellent condition. I took a few titles from his vinyl collection and since then started adding my own titles. I’ve already devised a plan to digitize the Bond titles by lossless means so I can always have them in my pocket for when I’m out and about. At least when I find the time to. 🙃
Years ago I got rid of several hundred Vinyl LP's and Singles which there was a lot of Bond content, I always regret that decision.
I’m a pretty avid vinyl collector, much to the imaginary dismay of my studio apartment in Brooklyn. Over the years I’ve managed to collect the majority of the of the scores available - a few are original pressings but a lot of them are the recent re-issues. I wanted to be able to listen to the Barry scores, especially YOLT, OHMSS & DAF free of scratches.
Where it gets interesting is collecting the newer releases. I generally buy one copy to listen to and one to keep sealed, especially for more rare pressings like the release of Arnold’s CR where I believe only a couple thousand were made. I have three SF LP’s because of the differences in album art. In a move somewhere I did lose the 7” Adele single which is a shame because it’s worth a ton of money now and I can’t justify spending to replace it.
Has anyone else managed to collect some of the more rare singles, such as Arnold’s “Shaken & Stirred”/DAF?
Just recently I bought Rita Coolidge's 'All Time High' single from Octopussy on vinyl for £6.99 in a local antiques/retro shop. Interestingly it had the lyrics of the theme song typed up on a sheet of paper inside the cover which I assume a previous owner had typed up for reference. Of course it could have come with the single but I somehow doubt it. I was really chuffed to find that one as Octopussy is one of my favourite Bond films and 'All Time High' is probably my favourite Bond theme song too.
I tend to just collect Bond vinyl as I find it in the wild, which isn't too often. I tend to collect Bond books and magazines more but I don't pass up the chance to pick up other Bond bits and pieces when I can. I do have an old record player from the 1960s so it's probably not the best for playing records but I did use it a fair bit in my youth. I've yet to play my latest Bond acquisition on it but the TLD and AVTAK vinyls did seem to have dirt on them and skipped a bit while playing. Still, it's nice to have the cover art and records themselves. Of course if they play well too, that's an added bonus!
In response to meanwhile's post above I only have three singles. Chris Cornell on CD and Living Daylights and View To A Kill on 45rpm.
I have an original pressing of AVTAK single and TLD single too! Did not get any others, not sure why. LOL!
Not that I am into the money aspect but more the memories, I am wondering if these have any value...maybe need to check into that.

The B-side is catchy. Barry orchestra sprinkled with piano, guitar improv and occasional sax.
Yes, I noticed that the B-side had an extended instrumental version of the theme. I thought it was cute that it had AM 007 on the single as it was relased by A&M Records. I know that the AVTAK single had a track from the Barry soundtrack theme on the B-side and very beautiful it is too.
My uncle had many of the albums along with the 8-track versions and I'd sit for the longest time just staring at the photos or illustrations and hearing those Barry tunes or George Martin or Marvin Hamlisch. It was the closest way to relive the films before home video or streaming.
I pieced together my collection over the years. It started with cut-outs of TB and LALD my mom got and later picked up TSWLM. Then when I became a serious fan, I collected the best versions I could, some sealed but most are cut-outs with a hole drilled through or a corner snipped off. But hunting them down is part of the fun of collecting.
As an update to my previous post in this thread from July 2022 I've since played the AVTAK vinyl singles again and they still have dirt on them in places and skip a bit. I heard someone say in the antiques/retro shop where I got 'All Time High' that you can get some kind of silicon to put over records with dirt or lint on them and it removes it from them. I don't know if anyone here has heard of such a thing?
I played Rita Coolidge's 'All Time High' for the first time last year shortly after I acquired it and I'm happy to report that it played beautifully. I was delighted that it did as it's probably my favourite Bond theme song. Very underrated and a beautiful lighter romantic Bond song to boot. And, @mattjoes, you were right. The B Side is a beautiful instrumental theme too.
Likely that's referring to silica gel, as used in car detailing and other cleaning.
It's reusable, and directly removes dirt instead of moving it around. No friction, no wear involved. Colorful, too.
Ah, thanks, @RichardTheBruce. That must be the stuff then. I overheard someone talking about it in that shop. I'd never heard of it before but I tried to file it away in my mind. I'll have to give it a try on the two vinyl singles I have of AVTAK. I remember buying a cleaning cloth for vinyl records once from HMV years ago and trying it out on an old (non-Bond) record that was skipping to no discernable benefit.

I bought this a few days ago for £3.50 in a record shop closing down sale.
As a side note and Bond related I also bought The Sting Film score on vinyl adapted by Marvin Hamlisch, Chitty Chiity Bang Bang score was there also though the LP had a very nasty deep scratch unfortunately.
