    Listening to these wonderful cues.

I still listen to those cues on my TMWTGG playlist, although that Youtuber hasn't resurfaced for many years.

These have been a nice couple of days for Bond music. Apart from the announcement of the expanded LALD and OP scores, Q The Music Show shared a couple of live performances of Bond music:

This OHMSS suite includes certain pieces that their other suite did not, like Bond Meets the Girls and Sir Hilary's Night Out.

And this version of Bond 77 is preceded by an intro, featuring the film cue that plays when Bond takes out the motorbike assassin in Italy. It sounds great.

That opening to OHMSS suite is awesome.

I need that version of Bond77, I loved that.

Caroline Munro has a spot on one of the UK channels doing intro's to usually classic horror films like Hammer.

The Man with the Golden Gun Expanded Score "Gun Master"

The Man with the Golden Gun Expanded Score "Kung Fu School"

The Man with the Golden Gun Expanded Score "Bond Meets Anders"

TMWTGG is not my favorite score by any stretch as I find it repetitive, there are a few good themes in there though.

The more I listen to Bond Look-Alike, the more I'm convinced this one of the absolute best Bond tracks in any Bond score. Emotionally and tonally, it is so on point. Here's a little breakdown of the first cue of the track.

    0:00 - 0:16
A subdued arrangement of the Bond Theme that conveys sneakiness, danger and mystery.

    0:16 - 0:32
A stronger sense of danger, especially when the phrase is repeated on a lower register (0:24).

    0:32 - 0:41
Concern for Bond's well-being ("please be careful"). Accordingly, the music is more anguished.

    0:41 - 0:57
The Bond Theme - Infiltrating the airbase.
By having the brass play block chords, the texture of the music becomes very thick and ominous. The martial snare adds to the suspense.

    0:57 - 1:13
The "danger" melody from 0:16-0:32 is overlaid on top of the Bond Theme.

    1:13-1:21
Musically, everything seems to come to a standstill: the brass stays on one chord, the snare is silent. Something important is going to happen. Then, the reveal that the real Toro has noticed Bond, emphasized through a sinister phrase played on muted trumpets, among other instruments.

    1:21-1:37
A twist. We're back to the suspenseful arrangement of the Bond Theme heard at 0:41, but with the riff and brass countermelody on top. This changes the mood slightly, creating a slightly more playful feel within the still-suspenseful situation, as we see Bond continuing with his subterfuge when meeting a technician (military salute becomes karate chop).

    1:37-1:52
Placing the explosive. Notice the downward phrase at 1:44: Bond's been captured, and the music conveys the disappointment.

That's the first cue. In the second cue of the track, it's interesting to notice how the seductive and sordid string/woodwind phrase, which accompanies Bianca's distraction of the soldiers, begins on a lower register, is then played on a higher register (making it sound even more sordid), and then is played again on the same register, but with added oboes, which now make it sound comedic. The music follows and complements the emotional palette of the scene to the letter.

My favorite part of the track is the transition at 1:21, from one section into the next one. The music immediately before and after is terrific, but in my opinion, the real genius lies in the transition itself: the bold, sudden change from one mood to another, with a slight pause in between.

Love this score very measured, JB incorporates some great flourishes.

    I love this theme.
This is one of my favorite Q the Music Show performances. The string section sounds great.

This is one of JMY's best. Beautiful. So skillful at taking apart the music and putting it together again in a different way.

Yes, I think I did it. Something to be proud of!

I'd like to go see them live. I might plan a visit to London with that in mind. Not this year though.

I happened to be browsing my JMY music collection and didn't remember this track. I played it and it was a revelation. It's like a musical collage—it starts to drift away from what constitutes a remix.

Good point I have not looked into there concert schedule, I should check when they are playing live in the UK myself. I was only saying today to a friend I need to get back into concerts and live bands, its been a while.

In my university days I worked for a promotions company hiring bands for local venues, good times.

Occasionally I still play the "Bond Themes" auto cassette mixtape that I prepared in 1999 (right after TWINE). Opening with "Dream On. James You're Winning" (CR'67) and concluding with the Bond Theme (DN), I programmed the toons pretty much at random - save for a YOLT-OHMSS sequence.

    A fun 90 minutes.
