Title song sung by Shirley Bassey
Lyrics by Hal David

Exclusive release: Sold exclusively at www.lalalandrecords.com and 007Store.com for the first 90 days of release
La-La Land Records, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, EON Productions and Universal Music Enterprises mark the 45th Anniversary of the eleventh 007 film Moonraker, with a remastered and expanded 2-CD re-issue of composer John Barry's original motion picture score. The 1979 film stars Roger Moore as James Bond in his fourth turn as 007 and is produced by Albert R. Broccoli and directed by Lewis Gilbert.
Oscar® winning composer John Barry continues to bring his creative mastery to the Bond franchise with a thrilling, often romantic score that not only takes 007 around the world… but propels him into outer space. Shirley Bassey returns for her third Bond title song featuring lyrics by Hal David. Expanded beyond previous soundtrack editions and with highly enhanced audio quality, Moonraker blasts off like never before within this deluxe presentation.
Produced by Neil S. Bulk, remixed by Mike Matessino from high-resolution digital transfers of 2” tapes provided by MGM, and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this is a special 2-CD release, limited to only 5,000 units. Disc One presents the score in chronological order and features music never before available, followed by source music recorded for the film and additional versions of score cues. Disc 2 presents the original 1979 soundtrack album, newly assembled for this release, followed by alternate versions of the title song, including two early versions with lyrics and vocals by Oscar® and GRAMMY® winner Paul Williams. The exclusive, new liner notes are by film music journalist and author Jon Burlingame and art direction is by Dan Goldwasser.

But where are you getting this from?
Edit: found the link-

Unbelievable !
It’s slightly absurd, isn’t it? The 007 Store also won’t let you order the two CDs together, so you have to pay for postage twice! I’ve gone ahead and ordered from La-La Land direct. I’m really hoping the albums make it to me before Christmas 🤞🏻
Yes, and bear in mind, the chap from LLL said that they don't get the choice; Eon come to them asking if they'd like to release this or that film, so although I'm sure LLL will have done a bang up job as per usual, it's actually Eon we have to thank that these are coming out!
Yeah fingers crossed they'll come quicker from LLL, but I think I did see on there that it's possible we might not get them until January (maybe hedging their bets after the Octopussy situation last year!) so I'm not going to get too desperate about when they're coming- I've been waiting for this version of Moonraker for five years since they first mentioned it, so I can wait a little longer :D
And the Paul Williams versions of the song, amazing.
Everybody will proper lose their minds around here.
Lol. That would be too much happiness for us, that we might faint.
I guess there's not a huge amount from that we don't have though, is there? The previous expanded release was pretty decent. If there's a similar amount of alternate unheard material then it would certainly be an instant purchase though, that's for sure.
Of the Barrys it's only really AVTAK which is left waiting for some love, and I must say I'd probably covet that more than a new OHMSS, sorry! :D
40th anniversary next year... ;)
Then it's Spy and LTK, and then we're kind of pretty much done, unless they can expand the ones we've got even further of course.
The current expanded edition is pretty complete, no?
(Ironically, the track I'd want most is a remaster of Altman's tank chase, ha!)
Yeah, I think when Bond meets Wade outside the airport & when Bond and Natalya escape the tiger helicopter explosion...those are ones that immediately quickly come to mind, before other missing ones.
Ah yes, good references. And two of Serra's coolest tracks, IMO! I wonder if they were left off the expanded version because they're more Bond theme heavy, and there was a desire to showcase his more, erm, 'original' work instead?
(Snark aside: I actually quite like a LOT of that score and think time's rightfully being a bit more kind to it now).
Yeah. It could be, because those two tracks are inventive and awesome, but still screams Bond, even with its atmospheric and industrial style.
Same here. I love the score.
Me too. I'd spend big bucks on a complete GE score...
Most anticipated cues:
Gun Barrel and Hijackers
Last Leg and Freefall Sequence
Funeral Barge – Venice Boat Chase
The Magnificent Seven
Hang Glider Crash
Emergency Stop
Mardi Gras
Morning After
Gregorian Chant
Funeral Barge – Venice Boat Chase (Alternate Mix)
...and the unused music.
Once again a shoutout to gkgyver's score reconstruction, which made the absence of the original recordings tolerable!
I also will probably continue to listen to my own reconstruction of Venice Boat Chase, since I love tinkering with the individual instrument tracks, something which this album logically cannot offer.
I didn't want to listen to samples of unreleased cues but I did check out the Cable Car and Snake Fight sample from disc 2, and boy, what a difference! The mix sounds much clearer and wider, with all the clutter of instruments completely gone.
With that title, I gather Last Leg and Freefall Sequence contains unused music. I read elsewhere that the freefall music here isn't quite the same as in the film, which would make sense. I've always suspected it was edited in post-production.
The tracklist also confirms my suspicion that the Romeo & Juliet music was re-recorded for the film.
As I mentioned elsewhere, they also seem to have definitely done away with the borders for these re-releases. It was a convoluted idea anyway, using a certain color for each anniversary, and the execution wasn't that good.
:))
I just listened to the Flight in Space preview, wow, this release sounds gorgeous.
Lift up our dreams,
Passion and starlight are insep'rable teams'...
That's a bit of what he remembered his lyrics to be to Jon Burlingame, I guess we'll find out! :)
It's as close as we'll get to the Sinatra version, as apparently that was the one he was going to sing.
I do wonder why the Johnny Mathis version isn't there, as he did actually record it. Maybe there's some sort of issue with his estate.
Looking forward to it! And the rest, obviously...!
Would John Barry have copies of his work? They would be his private collection and not for sale or distribution. I've no idea if Barry had copies of all his work.
Ownership of music:
Amazing to get Moonraker fully restored. I never expected it to happen. 🤗

Maybe, but there's no reason to think these weren't from the studio's library.
