2025 is 40th Anniversary of A View To A Kill and 30th Anniversary of Goldeneye - another LaLa Land Records announcement on Christmas Eve again would be lovely

I'd be all for an enhanced or expanded version of both.

A little of both would be ideal.

    I have a 44 track version of Thunderball that’s 1 hour 36 minutes long.

Nice! Is it an unofficial one? Do you know if it contains any good-quality material that is not included on the 1CD release ?

And the "Fanfare" is part of the Bridge, I guess, but extracting it to place it right at the start of the gunbarrel in FRWL was a genius move. What a powerful opening.

Yeah, you're right, it is part of the bridge structurally really, but I guess I kind of pluck it out on its own because of that gunbarrel usage really. You're right it is genius, but then I guess Barry was one! :)
I agree, I have thought about this in the past and I feel that's the ultimate stroke of genius of the Bond Theme: the way it was adjusted to fit the gunbarrel sequence. And to think that only started with the second film.

    Randomly thinking about this again.
Actually, I think credits could also be given to sound editor Peter Hunt on Dr.No.

Yes, he made some debatable choices with the soundtrack (well, he was working with what he had).

But he was the first to "decide" that the gunbarrel would make its greatest impact associated with powerful music, and I think he was the one who decided to start the Bond Theme directly with the be-bop section in DN. Not the fanfare section, but it's the same idea. What a powerful opening.

It was a controversial decision to not start with what Norman/Barry had came up with (starting with the sneaky bassline), but I think that was the original genius decision. I think it's impossible that Barry wasn't influenced by that a little for FRWL. Though what he came up with was even more awesome.

Would I go as far as saying that Hunt was the non-musician who had the most impact on the bond sound? Maybe ;)

There was a forum website that for a while uploaded lots of additional tracks / expanded Bond scores and the quality of most was great (I even have some tracks from GOLDFINGER that were missing from the recent LaLa Land Records release).

I have all my Bond music on iTunes. If someone can tell me how to upload iTunes music to somewhere, I’m happy to share them (all the ones that LaLa Land Records haven’t yet released as we need them to carry on).

actually strike my earlier rushed typed overview on that expanded nttd ,this albums "explosion to hotel" track sounds like the final intended film version mix before the actual tweaked film cue was arrived at ,notably this track has a small section of rising tension bond theme replaced in the film by those alarm synthesised horns just before bond jumps off bridge and therefore differing in subtle ways from its corresponding official album track "message from a friend".
The volume level of this track seems to shrink compared to the OST. needs re-levelling...at least the one on download soundtracks does.

Is there any "highlights" in the new tracks? haven't quite got through it all but as others have said, a large amount of ambient noise that perks up with something more dramatic. easy to see why they trim these scores down to 1 CD.
To be expected really, as indicative of current gen film scoring and it being a long film... also a current trend. It's not necessarily comparable to the Barry's and first 40 years, they just wouldn't score that bit. But don't forget the Casino Royale iTunes bonus tracks if we're thinking the entire score was full of melodies....

Recent years, as much as i've lamented over incomplete and unreleased scores... there's something to be said about the original soundtracks as an album, the order of tracks and any edits. I've started to view them as the essential highlights of the score. Do they leave you wanting? maybe in some cases there are certain cues... but all of the cues.. probably less so.

What's the exact version of DAD that is played in the palace party scene? Sounds like the Dirty Vegas Dub but I don't know, I suspect it lacks certain guitar notes heard in the film.

until you raised the doubt i've always believed it to be the vegas dub in two short edits either side of "the explanation" cue,by th way mattjoes hows the mayday escapes reconstruction coming along?

Here's an audio of the party music (don't know if it's a rip or an edit or whatever).

There are 4 guitar notes at 0:21 that precede the calmer part. I couldn't find them in the Dirty Vegas dub.

Everything AVTAK is on hold indefinitely. I have less time than before and I've decided not to use it on something with a strong chance of getting officially released anyway. After all, it's AVTAK's 40th anniversary next year and the Bond score re-releases keep coming. I'm working on another score that makes more sense given the circumstances. At the moment, apart from that score, I have no plans to do any other cues of any other films. More details later.

The guitar notes are there, at 8:03
Then it transitions to 4:17, I believe.

I'm excited to know more about this ;) Is it a Barry one, or do you prefer to keep the secret?

yes it has but you can just hear at fadeout more of this cue than made it into the film ,also have to wait and see if it culminates in the same drum roll ending as the film edit. by the way does anyone else feel the mardi gras appitiser might be an alternate similar to say george martins two renditions of san martinique?

Oops maybe not just saw over on fsm discussion someone else posed same question about lost charm and n s bulk of la la land said no its not that short jazz cue , which begs the question what on earth is it given its album position and length of 0.48 seconds?

You misread. Bulk said that Lost Charm IS that short jazz cue. So it's the two pieces of nightclub dance music that weren't included.
