    He's 3/3 for me currently. I still wasn't blown away by the one trailer I saw for Nosferatu but he hasn't let me down yet. Can't wait to see it next month, think it'll be the last film I see in theaters this year after Gladiator II yesterday.

    I'm in total agreement regarding Eggers. He is one of the few it seems who still care about the art of cinema.

    Well, Nosferatu is really killing it with the reviews so far. Not a surprise, but still happy news, of course, and I can’t wait to see it when I get the chance. That being said, I’m still disappointed Anya Taylor-Joy was not the lead as originally planned. She did so well in The Witch and The Northman, but sadly don’t know if she and Eggers will collaborate again.

    But... without Melissa and Jenna, I'm already much less enthusiastic about the film and the people producing it. The article also mentions

    which feels like they're milking the cow even drier. But hey, Scream 5 showed that they can still surprise me, so who knows.

    I've just seen Nosferatu again, and I can't get this film out of my head. On the one hand, it's a close remake of the original, with only a few additions to the story. On the other hand, it's a stylish, bold, and perplexingly alluring film that highlights the often-overlooked thin line between horror and beauty. I find myself captivated by its mystery; as was the case when I first saw Herzog's version, my mind cannot escape the film's enigmatic grip. Eggers has created a movie that feels precisely tailored to my taste.

    It is pretty awesome. I look forward to revisiting it a lot once the 4K drops! Theater tickets near me are just too expensive for more trips right now sadly, but I’d love to see it again otherwise.

    For the first time in 60 years, Hammer is venturing beyond its iconic interpretations of Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Mummy to bring us Ithaqua. This chilling tale, set against the harsh backdrop of 1800s Canada, is currently in production under the direction of Casey Walker.

    Who is Ithaqua?
    The Cthulhu Mythos, a sprawling tapestry of cosmic horror, is populated by a pantheon of terrifying entities. Among them stalks Ithaqua, the Wind-Walker, a creature of chilling power and ancient origins.

    Ithaqua’s first appearance was in August Derleth’s short story “The Thing That Walked on the Wind,” inspired by Algernon Blackwood’s “The Wendigo.” This connection to the Wendigo legend hints at Ithaqua’s roots in the primal fears of the wilderness.

    Described as a colossal, vaguely humanoid giant with glowing red eyes, Ithaqua haunts the frigid wastes of the Arctic and Sub-Arctic regions. From Siberia to Canada and Alaska, tales of this monstrous entity have instilled terror in local populations for generations. He is believed to hunt down unwary travelers, leaving behind a gruesome trail of carnage. It’s even speculated that Ithaqua may have been the inspiration behind the Native American legend of the Wendigo, and perhaps even the Yeti.

Definitely not as good as the original: it lacks the steady pace, increasing intensity and properly sustained horror feel of the first one (there is a big stretch of the film without any true horror or even gore, which is broken up only with the casino massacre). The new characters are fine (I rather like the lead actress' performance) but not as interesting as in the original. For a more serious tone, Divoff should've played the Djinn in a more natural style, too.

    And despite all that...... it's a lot of fun, certain slow and uneventful parts aside. It's a bit like going from Nightmare on Elm Street #1 to #6 in terms of tone, but Divoff, aiming for a more comedic take, makes it worth it. His silly grins, weird faces... I love it. Plus there's Tiny Lister Jr. ("BAM BAM!"), the lawyer who does you-know-what (with the guard staring at him nonchalantly!), the russian mobsters... good times.

    Legacy sequel? Bring it along I say.

    I have no plans to watch them at the moment. If I'm the mood for extreme badness (sometimes I am), I might take a look at them.
