Performance as 007 in FYEO and OP.

Well the great Bond movies have often baffled conventional minds.
;)
Don't worry @Birdleson, I feel the same about QOS.
But that's for another thread.
Remember the views in this thread are for John Glen films only, therefore OP is likely to score fairly highly. To the average fan, OP often appears around the middle of the pack. Not too many like me who rank it top 5 and above.
Well said!
I remember reading somewhere that without connery all the crew had to step up their game with OHMSS.
I agree with you ...I enjoyed both OP and QS.
Take out the tennis and tiger sound effects and I would've been happier.
Seconded.
It's not set in stone no. But it makes it further towards a concensus coming from people 'in the know'.
" OP resides firmly in my bottom. 10-4 " :D
The Living Daylights
For Your Eyes Only
A View to a Kill
Licence to Kill
Never have been a huge fan of the Glen films, they all rank somewhere in my bottom half.
FYEO 4/5
AVTAK 3/5
LTK 3/5
OP 2/5
1 TLD

3 LTK
4 OP
5 AVTAK
John Glen himself thinks LTK is the best film he directed personally.

How do you know that?
Do you know where John Glen said that? Never heard that one, but am more than happy that he gives the often underrated gem that is Octopussy such accolades.

I must say that I re-watched AVTAK few days ago and found it tremendously entertaining. All in all I'm a fan of the Glen era, although I must confess that I feel a little frustrated with the cartoonish excesses of OP, as I feel that it prevents this classic bond flick from being a classic espionage film altogether (let's not fool ourselves, a lot of it's foolishness can only be tolerated by bond fans) as opposed to casino royale that can be enjoyed even by non Bond fans. That being said, LTK is my second favorite Bond movie altogether (the first one being Casino Royale) and I do feel that Skyfall is a little overrated (I could have done without the past references. OK to make a darker Bond but do we have to go from light espionage/adventure flick to the Dark Knight??). As for my appreciation of LTK I may be a little biased since it was my first bond movie seen on big screen when I was 8. Pretty impressive for a kid lol. FYEO fells a little odd in the Moore canon since it's seriousness is quite striking between moonraker and OP. That's one of the reasons I enjoy it so much.

I really like all of them, though.
