Indeed.....fingers and everything else crossed !
Hope so! If they plan on releasing in 2019 then they better get moving.
You would think they have a script and are currently looking for actors/actresses and location scouting. I know we normally get a hundred casting rumors when we get closer to the filming. Right now the tabloids are saying Christopher Nolan is the next director. I believe there is some truth. Seems like they are at least interviewing potential directors.
They've been in the midst of searching for a director for a while now. There's no way they haven't begun something like this with so many rumors out in the last few months, on top of them wanting a director in less than a month's time.
Man that's an accurate description of the Craig era. I can picture the YouTube style video titles.
CR: "Bond falls in love and then she DIES"
QOS: "Bond seeks REVENGE for the death of his GF"
SF: "MANIAC gets even with his old boss"
SP: "Bond finds out his enemy is his LONG LOST STEP-BROTHER"
Cheap drama is what that is.
That was my line of thinking for a while, as well. The script for Craig's last - I would assume, anyway - would look entirely different from the script of someone's first installment.
Because of the leak(s) debacle of SPECTRE, the cards are being played much closer to the vest.
FRWL - imo, is the template for the perfect Bond movie... so give me something that i close to that, or CR, with a bit of GE sprinkled in - and i'll be happy
That's why for me both SF and SP's openings seem stale compared to CR.
I like Nolan‘s Dark Knight trilogy alot so I am sure he could create a good Bond movie ... but after #blofeldgate please no more nonsense like killing off Bond. I do have confidence Noland could end the Craig era properly after bringing his very own interpretation of the character to the silver screen. Noland is #2 on my list ... number one is preparing Dune right now unfortunately.
I'm a big fan of SF but I have to agree. CR and QoS felt a little bit smaller I think, and I'd rather Craig went back to something like that for his last (or something like FRWL or OHMSS like you said).
Killing Bond just wouldn't be right. Faking his death, maybe, but even then it's been done to death by now. Bond 25 should be more creative than SP (a decent but by-the-numbers Bond film IMO) but also careful in how it shakes things up.
Like Director first and foremost and Distributor?!!!!
Stunts aren't appreciated like they used to be. The problem is they aren't used inventively anymore, and when that isn't the case it's generally easily to mock it up on a computer now. They need to think of a stunt where the practicality of it informs the storytelling, then it would be worth it to do for real.
Yes, very ominous.
They will have to get Deakins back too. Forget Adele, Smith, Waltz, Seydoux and the rest of those Scooby clowns. Get Deakins, and Mendes and Craig can go out on a high and make everyone happy.
Agreed. He should have been a one-off with SF, which put all his energy and best ideas into. Bringing back Mendes almost definitely is a mistake.
