Rank the films as trilogies by there year of release. Fairly simple. I’ll start

    Based on my rating for each movie:

    4. TB, YOLT, OHMSS (22/30)
    ___LTK, GE, TND (22/30)
    6. OP, AVTAK, TND (19/30)

    The first three are fairly easy but after that it gets a bit messy. I'm loathed to have CR so low but the drag factor of DAD is impossible to overcome and coupled with the extremely mediocre TWINE CR finds itself fatally wounded.

    The same applies to OHMSS but obviously TB and YOLT are far better than TWINE and DAD hence it places higher.

    It’s funny how most people think CR is great including me, but the two films directly before it drop the “trilogy” to near bottom on every list so far

    There are some variations here, but a huge majority seem to have DN-GF on top, and TWINE-CR second last.

    This is a fascinating idea. Here's my first stab at it:

    1. DN, FRWL, GF
    2. TB, YOLT, OHMSS
    3. LTK, GE, TND
    4. TSWLM, MR, FYEO
    5. TWINE, DAD, CR
    6. QoS, SF, SP
    7. OP, AVTAK, TLD
    8. DAF, LALD, TMWTGG

    It's tough to rank because each trilogy has at least one good to great film and one bad to awful one. There's no real question that the first three Connerys sit at the top, and the early seventies trilogy is at the bottom. But in between it's a crapshoot. How far can Casino Royale elevate a trilogy that contains Die Another Day? Can Moonraker by itself sink Moore's two best entries?

    Also, looked at this way, certain eras get a big boost, and others really suffer. The two more bombastic, decadent Connery films vault up to second place because they're not that bad in themselves and are carried by OHMSS. But the Craig era, which is quite strong, gets stuck between spots 5 and 6. If it had been possible to rank CR/QoS/SF together, it would have been in second place, and just a hair behind the original Connery trilogy.

    Interesting FRWL and OHMSS often rotate in top spot for me, I love the old school espionage feel to FRWL it's such an atmospheric film for me.

    I absolutely love GE, but the other two are pretty good and don't drag it down at all. And so it slips into third place.

    3. TB, YOLT, OHMSS = 80.00% (best: OHMSS 10/10)
    4. OP, AVTAK, TLD = 76.67% (best: TLD 10/10)
    5. TWINE, DAD, CR = 76.67% (best: CR 9/10)
    6. TSWLM, MR, FYEO = 70.00% (best: FYEO 9/10)
    7. DAF, LALD, TMWTGG = 70.00% (best: TMWTGG 8/10)
    8. QOS, SF, SP = 60.00% (best: SF 7/10)

    OP-TLD and TWINE-CR are tied but TLD has the highest individual score so its group gets the higher spot. Same goes for TSWLM-FYEO and DAF-TMWTGG where FYEO has the highest individual score.

    The problem with this really is that there are many trios with one film that is much worse than the other two, or for example, TSWLM getting dragged down for being next to FYEO and MR. But I guess that's the challenge of this.
