Dracula goes in to seduce Melinda Plowman and turn her into "the undead".
Carradine did insist the Count refer to himself as "the undead'.

Dracula then goes to the doctor's office to pick up the ailing Melinda Plowman.

Here is an infamous scene in which the good doctor jhold a mirror to Dracula's face and he replies:

    RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

    Some great dialogue here.

In this film the only way to kill a vampire is to drive a spike thru it's heart.

    Doesn't have to be wood.

This almost plays more like a serial chapter or a television western.

    Still great fun.

Billy is offered a spike and refuses thinking Dracula can be stopped by a regular bullet.

Carradine seems to have some trouble carrying her up the little hill into the mine.

And so ends BILLY THE KID VS DRACULA (1966).

It's an acquired taste and not to everyone's liking. I, myself love it for all it's B movie cheese appeal.
Interestingly, there are more public domain versions of JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER than there are of this film. A better chance to find a decent copy. This DVD of the Dracula film is borderline un-watchable print wise. I love it that way, though, but would most certainly pick up a new transfer if the opportunity arose.

    Fun film.

Hard to believe it's been a couple weeks since I participated in this thread.
Being tonight is Friday the 13th, time for some classic horror.

    THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1957)

So begins Hammer's initiation into Gothic remakes in beautiful Eastmancolor.

Music composed by James Bernard. My fave Hammer composer.

    Directed by Terence Fisher.

    Woodsy mountainside.

    Matte Painting actually.

This was shot at Bray Studios. Hammer made use of redesigning the same sets for other scenes and films. The jail chamber Baron Frankenstein is imprisoned in is the same as his laboratory.
