For suggestions not linked directly to the main villain role in Bond 25.

Damnit! Didn't notice the "Bond 25" bit there! I guess if Kenneth Branagh can pass for a Russian in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Winstone could in Bond 25.

    What about Winstone?
He can be good, but he's played buffoons too many times as well, which has impacted my opinion of him. I think the next villain has to be a serious type who can do menacing.

I've always been partial to Jeremy Irons. He might be a bit old now, but a few years back he would have been great, even as Blofeld.

He would be the "obvious" villain of course, but that doesn't need to be a bad thing. Everyone knew who Christoph Waltz would be in SP long before the trailers came – although that performance wasn't his most memorable.

    Wasn't Herzog in Jack Reacher?

    Yes, he was.

    How about Matthias Schoenaerts?

I endorse this recommendation. I've only seen him in Red Sparrow, where he was excellent.

Thanks you two like to see him too. I sugest him for the part of Hildebrand (and possible option to be Vesper Boy friend ).

He said no to Ben Afleck Batman, because to young (i think he shoud have more experience too.).

    with English subs (pc only)

There whant Belgium actor Jan Decleir for Gubta in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), but he said no.

Madeleine Swann might not be returning, so I guess we can count her out as a villain.

He’s great. He played a slippery Russian official excellently in that film. He’s a very handsome man, so the fact that they made him look quite so dreary and anonymous was rather impressive. I also think the filmmakers deliberately made him look like Putin…

But he was very charming and empathic in The Danish Girl.

I think Willem Dafoe should play a villain. He already played a Russian baddie in Everything or Nothing, so just upgrade him into the film series. Plus he’s winning raves for his performance as Vincent Van Gogh.

Chris O'Donnell would be brilliant. Just kidding. The worst actor I've ever seen apart from Steven Seagal.

Thought he was quite good in The Company.

" it means the production dates will be pushed back to accommodate for a new writer-director to come on board."

I love the fact they take the delay for granted even though they themselves admit they it is but an assumption

I hope Maddy and Hinx don’t come back. I don’t hate their characters in SP, but another direct sequel would really tick off most Bond fans - including me.

Agree. Hope they keep the references to SP at a minimum, or none at all.

Indeed, Craig is enough of a reference himself.

No to Winstone, he's now a caricature of himself.

If ... now this is I grant you a big If Bond 25 is on schedule I have a feeling the Wonder Woman actor is indeed the villain of Bond 25

    This is quite true.

That would be a bit anticlimactic after his recent revelation imho. He brought that up all on his own if I'm not mistaken, because I don't think anyone would have guessed he would have initially been on the list, after the rumours of a Russian villain etc.

Have to say I rather like the Willem Dafoe idea, but only if he gets to be super-creepy... Loved him in Grand Budapest Hotel.

Good shout Torgeirtrap. Actually he'd be a more effective henchman than Elvis in QOS. My least favourite minor Bond character of all time. Except for the French detective in AVTAK

Auchille Aubergine is a fun parody.

Not too familiar with Iain Glen, but Mikael Persbrandt and Peter Haber are both great actors (both have played the Swedish spy Hamilton, also). Casting any of these two would compare to the casting of Mads Mikkelsen, IMO.

Edit: Persbrandt is also a bit taller than Craig, so he would be a more physical treat too, if cast as a villain.

Interesting. So a Scottish newspaper and an Abu Dhabi one directly attribute quotes to him which he now denies about 4 to 5 days later to a Moroccan outlet?

Oh well, no loss here as far as I'm concerned. He could have been decent but a part of me is glad he won't be the guy.

Helen Mirren is always an excellent choice so far as I am concerned. Hey, and she's of Russian descent!

I seriously doubt they'll go for an Arabic and/or Muslim villain. Or even a Muslim actor playing a non. Muslim villain.
