    We're almost there, folks. Dr. No was able to bounce back this time, winning by the stunning margin of 225-84, and taking the games by the equally stunning margin of 14-4. But as it hits the home stretch, it has one last mountain to climb, in the form of 2012's Skyfall. Which of these two semi-origin stories will end up on top?

    Main Villain: SF (Silva just edges it out, as great as the eponymous Dr. No is)
    Main Bond Girl: DN (sort of by default)
    Henchmen: DN (again, sort of by default)
    Overall Plot: DN (sort of...by default? I joke because I care.)
    Dialogue: DN
    Score: SF
    Settings: DN (SF has some nice ones, but Jamaica is just so lovely)
    Action: SF (neither has a ton, but the opening and ending are strong enough to carry it)
    Humour: SF
    Cinematography: SF (I mean, duh.)
    Benign Bizarre: SF (Silva himself finds a way to push it over the edge)

    Glamour: DN (SF is beautiful at points, but I wouldn't say particularly glamorous)

    And after it's all said and done, SF edges it out, 10-7. It's a fitting result, since it sits just one spot above DN on my Bond rankings (6 and 7, respectively). Can Skyfall hold on to it's slight lead, or will Dr. No rally? There's only one way to find out...

    But Skyfall is just superior, for me, in nearly every category.

    I like DN’s dots in the credits sequence but you just gotta go with SF’s sequence. One of the best in the entire series and the best since GE!

    No, I think CR titles bury SF. SF’s are good, some striking visuals, just don’t get excited when I see them.

    I’m the opposite. I find the CR titles, while good, a bit overrated. SF is a work of art though. Very striking and rich!

    You know, just out of curiosity, I've worked out a few statistics of my own. Considering you've already done Spectre vs. the field and ignoring Dr. No vs. the field as it's about to finish, if you were to do every remaining Bond film vs. the field, the number of remaining matches would be:

    21 + 20 + 19 + ... + 1

    By the formula of the nth partial sum of the infinite natural number series, with n=21, that equals 21x22/2 = 231 matches

    If you take a month with each match, you'll take 231 months to go through all the matches. 231 months are 19 years and 4 months.

    Not trying to be a wise guy here, just got curious about this.

    It checks out! I have an Excel file that I do a yearly Bond Movie A vs. Bond Movie B. That way I can isolate the two films and compare which one I prefer. And in the end my fav film has 23 wins, while the last film in my rankings can't amass a single win.

    That's exactly how I do my rankings! I have some ties however, and while it's usually "YES/NO" this film is better, I have a "UNDECIDED" option

    Ah good stuff. I try to avoid doing ties, but it's getting harder as the years go by as I love them all so much and it's getting harder to choose between them!

    I don’t understand SF winning the humor category. No Craig film can top a Connery film in that category. The gallows humor of the Connery area is untouchable! Craig’s films are the most dour and humorless of them all.
