The name's 25. Bond 25, or rather, it's NTTD.

Haven't been able to track down a copy, myself. But, from what I've seen based on the video clips put online, it looks like a great indie thriller.

It aired on U.S, network television around '95. I believe it was intended for theatrical release but ended up being sold television instead. I remember recording on VHS back when it aired.
Not a bad thriller, and Roger looks great. I think Malcolm McDowell might have made a great Bond villain at some point. He probably still could. Great actor.

I also read it was a pilot for a TV series. Not entirely convinced of that though.

It's an old favorite of mine. Watched it (and taped it) some fifteen years ago on TV. Good script, good performances, good score by David Shire. The film has these stylized fantasy sequences in which Thomas Grace's (Roger Moore) books are brought to life, with Grace portraying Inspector Fulbright, the protagonist of the novels. They are especially amusing. And the premise of a madman "adaptating" Grace's fictional stories into real life makes for an exciting premise for a thriller/mystery.

Malcolm McDowell hams it up like there's no tomorrow. He's great at doing that.

My favorite non-Bond Roger Moore film tied with (wait for it)... Bullseye! But The Man Who Wouldn't Die is the one I can see a good number of people liking. Bullseye! is a more niche kind of thing. (A test: if you can laugh at this, you'll probably like that film)

With Shatterhand now confirmed as not the official title for Bond 25, what are your thoughts on the title ? Could it be an unused fleming novel title from a short story, such as Risico or Property of a Lady, or something entirely fresh and unrelated to Fleming.

I think EON might turn to the continuation novels for inspiration: Gardner, Horowitz, Faulks and Deaver had decent titles.

But then, many others have suggested the same. I'll just wait and see - can't be long now.

I would prefer Craig finish strong with a Fleming title. in my opinion his first two films were his strongest and both had fleming titles.

I agree with you that it should probably end with a Fleming related title. But as for his strongest, Casino Royale remains his best one for narrative and depth in my opinion. But I wouldnt say Quantum of Solace was his second strongest. That's the weakest in the Daniel Era, as well as one of the weakest in the entire franchise in my opinion. Casino Royale and Spectre are my favourite two. However, Skyfall would be the second best with Casino Royale. He needs to end with something as strong as Casino Royale.

I just try to forget about QOS. It was badly directed, with poor camera work and most importantly, the most dull and uninspiring villian ever. It was so forgettable, as much as a huge bond fan I am, it was just not good despite some good scenes.

If we had any details on the plot of the new film, we could have some better ideas of what the title could be. If it's the rumoured OHMSS remake, then what could it be called ? Not too long to wait now.

It'll probably be something quite original. Many will hate it, some will like it. A few will love it. One or two will swear to it being the best in the series.

As long as it has some brain action to it, and it's not just James Bond, or 007, or Bond. Which would be an expression of lack of imagination and care.

Just be creative and channel the Fleming in ya, EON.

Wrong thread for this, obviously, but I too love QOS, for the most of it. The only thing I'd change would be the song. I'd trade it for the Bassey/Arnold song. That's about it. That and more Fields. Lots and lots of Fields.

I would like something Fleming but as long as they come up with an intriguing title I don't mind if it's not Fleming. I love the title Skyfall for instance, that was a brilliant title. I kept wondering right up until seeing the movie what it meant

So long as it's not as unimaginative as Spectre, we'll be fine

Really? Well I am pleased that you like it, even though I find it very poor. To me, Die another day and quantum of solace are my two least favourite films of them all. There was hardly any great narrative to quantum i thought though. I understand it was a sequel, but the writers strikes didnt help the production of that film. It hurt it baldy. Daniel even had to write parts of it.

I couldnt stand the shaky cam work. Also not a fan of a direct sequel. Each bond film should be individual but it's fine to have elements that tie in the other films. The gun barrel opening a bond film should always happen, too. The villian was so poor in quantum though and the plot had hardly anything to it. But im glad these people liek you who really enjoyed it. Honestly.

I actually enjoyed Spectre far more than Skyfall, even thought Skyfall was a more refined and better movie. Spectre was the first Daniel Craig Bond film that went back to what we expect from bond films. The car chases, fun gadgets, etc. Even the gun barrel returned at the beginning. Yes!!!. It's my guilty pleasure bond movie. One I loved. But without a doubt. Casino Royale remains the strongest one yet and my personal favourite.

I just had a thought, and I would like your thoughts on this what has just come into my head. What if theysimply called the film Mr Blofeld, or something like that. A villian name, which simply goes back to Dr No kind of trend. A title that's simply the name of the villian. Could that be a possibility?

I also wanted to add why I hate Quantum, sorry to go on. The scene copied by goldfinger on the bed I hated. Also, parts of the film seemed disconnected and not put together right. It was a rushed film and one that shows on screen. But I respect your thoughts on it and glad you enjoyed it much more than me.

Yeah, I agree with that. Something catchy like that. I hope it's a longer title though than something really simple with one word like skyfall and spectre. I have a feeling the title is going to be something to do with death.

I want a do-over. And notice that this is turning into a Quantum of Solace call-back.

I absolutely love that. Norway to Die. Reminds me of say, form Russia with love. A location in the title would be amazing, dont you think?

    Thanks mate.

I'm probably in the minority here, but prefer something original, long (4+ words) and in the vein of titles containing live, die, gold etc.

In 2007 many fans championed Quantum of Solace and were right

And I could of sworn once the rights for Spectre were bought back a few thought of it as a title
