During pre-production of Dalton's third Bond film The Probability of A Lay-off, he insisted on doing the gun barrel sequence for real. Hence no third film.
Made with Two Positive Cylinder Locks.
the only things that
should last a lifetime.
is depressin'.
By the time Dalton showed up
at the Bond 17 script brainstorming session
with a big revolver and wearing a badge
the producers had already decided
to go with James Bond Jr.
actor Timothy Dalton finally had the freedom to take on
the vanity projects that really meant the most to him.
approached the epic pause from BOND 25 to 26
and actor Timothy Dalton became
understandably unhinged.
Louisiana sheriff and
Dalton doppelgänger Maynard Sanders III
delighted in play-acting the actor's roles on duty
to the consternation of his constituents.
The honorary sheriffship from Lafayette Parish, Louisiana,
quickly went to Dalton's head.
Tim's smile soon disappeared as he looked at his audience and realised his stint as a Children's Party entertainer may have gone too far.
Letting go is hard.
So.
Did you watch the 2024 Paris Olympics?!?
Dalton's non-Bond films shared lines with Brosnan Bond, like:
"Don't blow it all at once."
"The writing is on the wall."
(Another character: "Along with the rest of him.")
"Standard operating procedure. Boys with toys."
"Well, that depends on your definition of safe sex."
"Beg your pardon, forgot to knock."
"Buy me a pint."
"Where is she?!?"
" Then let's start with what you do know."
Remember the first rule of gunfighting ...
Have a gun.
Ideas pull the trigger, but instinct loads the gun.

Honorable mention goes to @RichardTheBruce. Can't help but laugh when thinking of good ol' Maynard and his crazy Dalton impressions.
And the winner is @Simon, who said it all with this witty caption.
Well done, @Simon! You win two tickets to the next children's party to be held wherever you live (terms and conditions may apply).
As a man without children, this feels deeply inappropriate :D
Are gifs allowed here? If so, have at it with this one:
To producer Barbara Broccoli’s credit,
she did not greenlight all of Craig's ideas.
An early SP story concept focused on
James Bond's evil twin brother and his
non-verbal forms of expression.
(Scrapped only when Craig demanded
double the pay for the double-role.)
Turns out, letting go is not so hard after all.
Important Message From Belvedere Vodka.
Short of the threatened slashing of wrists,
Daniel Craig's other attempts at getting
released from the Bond role also failed.
Craig starts this crap.
Everyone leaves the rooftop party.
Bond film paydays are always a joy.
