My guess: final version is no more than 2 hours and 10 minutes including end titles. This is based on various assumptions.

    @matt_u

Hmm...hard for me to pinpoint exactly. But a couple of things: NTTD looks fast paced and does not from what we know look as heavy on action as SP. Now, there are three setpieces scattered throughout (SP had five excluding the fist fight on the train). The first around scene 40 (Matera), the second around scene 100 (Cuba) and the last (Scotland/Norway chase) after scene 160. Then there's some sort of showdown at the end we know very little about, because they are interior Pinewood shots. If this was a three hour movie, we would either have very long action scenes or have them too far apart, meaning almost 45 minutes of dialogue before something big happens.

Secondly, the first encounter between Safin and Bond takes place in the 3rd act, where Bond is captured. So besides an introduction in the PTS, almost two hours will pass, before the villain enters the frame again?

If what we have seen in the trailer indeed are the money shots - bridge jump, bike jump, rotating DB5 (same setpiece), exploding boat (probably Cuba) and car turning over (Scotland) I just don't think that this looks like a 2 hr 30 min + movie. To me it looks like it's much shorter.

Don't know if this make any sense, but there you have it.

Maybe, there'll be more of Cat & mousing this time, hide & seek, deceptions, dramatic twists & turns, etc. That's the only way I can see an almost 3hr Bond film, Coz if it's only action....it shouldn't be that long.

Naomie Harris said there are tons of twists and turns.

I’m sceptical. I imagine they’ll want to shave 20 mins off that.

Yes, but the film will be very, very close to a final cut by now. It might even be locked within the next few days. So that won't mean huge cuts (20 mins would be big stuff at this stage), just trims and polishes.

I agree, only if the intel is true and up to date. I was being polite. I don’t believe it’s a 2hr 50m film, personally. You know how it works, there will definitely have been a cut that long at some point I’m just struggling to see that being close to the final cut.

Yeah, she did....she even mentioned 'Shock' as well.

They said the same about Spectre and the only twists I remember were Bond leaving MI6 at the end and Blofeld getting captured. Possibly Madeleine being alive as well since I expected her to get killed at the end.
    Everything else was very predictable.

I hope the runtime rumor is true. Let’s send Craig off with a lengthy, epic narrative!

A trustworthy source confirms a running time of about 2 hrs 50 min

I will have to make sure: no liquids prior to the film. I made that mistake with SP and was uncomfortable, with a pretty full bladder, for much of the second half. It sucked.

QOS is my favourite Craig entry and this is in part because it doesn't overstay its welcome.

His other films are all overlong IMO.

Yes, agree. We cut out about 15 mins from LTK. Most was tightening up scenes, but 4 to 5 complete scenes were deleted. I'd guess something similar on NTTD because Bond films never seem to get into major re-editing, re-structuring, and/or substantial cutting of complete scenes.

Stephen Colbert takes a crack at Billie and NTTD. Don't miss the video at the end

There is a shocking realism to Colbert´s observations.

I won't judge you, as the only way to appreciate SP is having a drink, or two, or even three before. Heck, bring the bottle.

I'm not particularly a fan of Eilish or that kind of music, but I think it may work well with a Bond theme. Something about her weird vocals feels like it would fit right in. We'll see.

I had a couple of pints before QoS, popped to the loo just after the plane/skydiving sequence and managed to get lost, wondering into the wrong screen with some horror thing on. I think I still didn’t miss much! :)

It wasn't your bladder, it was Mendes getting out of ideas.

I didn't know about her before this, but I've heard Bad Guy many times on the radio in my car last summer. It's a catchy tune but pretty meh.

That said, there are very few trendy singers and bands I'm a fan of so I don't really care who sings the Bond song as long as it's good.

Yes it was, although that scene seems to happen towards the end of the film, I don't see that as anything more than a playful shot that was done purely for the trailer.

What you see in the trailer will absolutely not be the gunbarrel of the film in any traditional sense (they won't do a repeat of Casino Royale). I'd put all my money on it.

I'm sure this is correct. My hope is that we get the exact same gunbarrel as from Spectre; punchy and perfect. Failing that, the gunbarrel from GoldenEye, the last good standard gunbarrel. ;)

Yeah I wouldn't mind the Spectre gunbarrel footage being used again: Craig did it pretty perfectly there if you ask me (I don't mind the swinging gun). But I guess re-filming it every time is what they do now.

I always got the feeling they have shot another gunbarrel. That video from the title announcement is so close to how a gunbarrel is shot, that I find it reasonable they shot both that video and the gunbarrel on the same day.

Craug has said there were some things he still wanted to do with the character. Is one of those a gunbarrel in a tuxedo?
(Which, in pop culture, is classic Bond. Yes, it didn't happen until TSWLM, but it's what everyone thinks of when they hear gunbarrel.)
