First official acknowledgement from a Universal affiliate - NTTD is getting 3D in selected territories. Look at the bottom of the Ukraine poster launched today

So countries so far confirmed for 3D: Netherlands, Bulgaria (their version of the Super Bowl ad had 3D) and now Ukraine

Oh that's quite interesting. Did that happen with the last ones?

Nope. This will be the first Bond ever to be released in 3D.

I can’t remember the last time I went to see a movie in 3D. I enjoyed it a little as a kid but it’s not really my thing at all now. Interesting to see the option is happening though for the first time for a Bond film.

I you are somebody who does not like 3D films this may help you understand why. Studies have show that the active participation (making decisions of where to look and focus) of the audience takes them out of the storytelling zone and impairs their ability to assimilate the emotional core and absorption of the story. Other than that it's all good.

Unfortunately, I bet it isn’t the action they’ve cut back on either. Shame.

I've said this loads of times so I apologise but I just think it makes sense structurally @FoxRox. To me if I was editing this film, I'd want everything after the title sequence to be present-day, so that it and the past are both self-enclosed and separate by the theme :)

Also emotionally it makes sense to have the title song follow Matera. It wouldn't make sense to have a song about betrayal before the person's supposedly been betrayed.

True enough. I'm sure it will work out in the context of the film. I just prefer the PTS in general to be more a little more compact, but for the film it should be fine.

The only thing I’m not looking forward to about this film is Nomi. She sounds like she has too much of an attitude and an annoying one at that. I won’t be surprised if she hinders my enjoyment of the film. Will Nomi be going into the villain’s lair too? If so, she shouldn’t be. She should be out of the picture at this point.

You’re not supposed to like all of the characters in Bond movies: what do you think the villains are for? :)

I’ve never actually disliked any of the villains in the films except for C maybe from Spectre but in terms of Nomi, she just sounds annoying. Plus, it seems like we’ll see a lot more of her than we do of the villains. Anyway, I won’t say anymore about her until I’ve seen the film.

I’m not into 3D. I find the glasses annoying. Often there are smears you have to clean off. I think that seeing a film on the big screen in 2D is just as good as 3D.

I hate 4D. Sitting in a seat that shakes isn’t my thing.

Well she doesn't seem annoying to me.

I think she seems like a cool new addition to the film, especially as this is capping off a film that started with James Bond earning his 00 status, so to see him interact and be involved in a mission with who came next to create a conflict that hasn't been before in the franchise so that the formula doesn't become stale and repetitive, which were some of the big complaints about Spectre - I'll take it.

Also one person finding someone annoying in one film doesn't constitute a pattern developing. It's just an opinion.

i know there are more then just one person who find her annoying. the problems with Spectre were more of things not put together if they didn't fool around and be cocky after the skyfall overhype they wouldn't be in this mess now they are throwing things together because Barbara loves watching soap operas where killing men is fun how xena likes it im sure barbara was very inspired by the star wars trilogy and thats it thats it destroy my fanbase lets do that my father would so proud. Can't believe it came to this it makes Spectre look like Goldfinger. funny enough I say that craig is wearing the goldfinger tux for the poster. all she can get actual fans is for the nostalgia. speaking of nostalgia this should be the pretitles it should let them know what they are in for. and here come the expletives in 3.... 2.... 1...... because they cant use proper language to express their hatred of the west. i don't obey pc communism.

The only thing now that worries me is that with the PTS being so long that the ending has to top it or else the film will be dramatically out of balance. To me, this is what happened to TWINE.

And SF. And SP. For me... the PTS in both were the highlights.

In terms of excitement and not length, I think the pre titles sequences are definitely more exciting in most of the films than the endings. I’ve never had this conversation before - comparing the beginnings to the endings. :)

The way she says “if you get in my way...” and the way she says “nope” in the plane. Mostly though, just the way she delivers the dialogue. She just looks like she has the kind of attitude on her that I can’t warm to. We’ll see though...

I think that the 3D version is some error, a logo that was copied and pasted from another poster, or a dubious initiative by some local distributor. Given the tight production schedule, especially for post, they just wouldn't have the time to deliver a satisfying conversion, which can ask close to a year to get it right, and naturally takes more time when the film is long.

Sure, there have been subpar jobs, especially after Avatar became a monster hit, and there are post-release attempts for a few blockbusters only available on Blu-ray from shady German distributors. But the emphasis on No Time to Die is clearly on using film and IMAX cameras for action sequences, and it's clearly not shot and framed with 3D in mind. So I'm not sure at all that EON or Fukunaga are approving a 3D version.

3 hrs is way too long for a Bond film. They should hover around the 2 hr mark as a general rule. SF and SP both suffer from being over long.

You can't compete with TV for run time. The beauty of cinema is in condensed effective storytelling.

Yeah I'm not keen on the idea of it being 2hr 45. Seems a bit excessive: I don't think more is always more.

Definitely not a mistake at this point - first this from Universal Ukraine, then the fact that Netherlands tickets are on sale (and it's on the country's official release schedule documents), and on Bulgarian distributor's marketing also. Yes the quality of the conversion is almost definitely gonna be sub par but in the decade since Avatar conversion tech has improved. But this wouldn't be the first time something like that has been done last minute for select territories - someone mentioned to me Universal had a 3D version of Jason Bourne done just for China.
