Quite of few of the kid-targeted Bond merchandise end up using the 007 logo without the gun. Not a new development at all.

Should we be outraged or ignore it because we’re not the target audience? Hmmmm

But… what if we want to feel righteously outraged because it makes us feel good???

Yes, it is a new development, all my race sets, action figures, pajamas and guns bought in the '60s as a kid proudly featured the full logo with the gun barrel. Different times. (BTW Didn't really have any 007 pajamas.)

I know, but we’ve never had a unwatchable EON Bond film, thankfully. We James Bond fans are lucky: we’ve got countless stories about Bond in all sorts of media: radio, comics, novels and video games. We are truly blessed with the people in charge of James Bond.

    It really isn't.

Semi related regarding Ana de Armas. Even Netflix is delaying movies. She might get a Oscar nod for it.

I stand corrected, especially on the Connery action figure.

If the film was ever going to have a day and date streaming release, they'd all be paid their full payouts - which is what WB did when they sent the films to HBO Max, and the streamers like Netflix have done as a matter of course when they acquired a film. It's part of why the $600-800m figures for NTTD were mooted. Disney seemingly did not do that here with Black Widow. They also reportedly kept the same rental (box office revenue split) terms with the cinemas as if it was a traditional release

I think the issue here (with Scarlett) was that her salary was tied to BO performance. This has been part of contracts going back to Jack Nicholson in Batman. Because Disney limited its BO release and streamed, Scarlett's payout was substantially less. Apparently, there was no wording in the contract about what she would get for PPV through Disney+. So Disney screwed her over. I'm not sure why they didn't do the "right thing" and give her a % of the PPV revenue.

Because they know that it would go to her “Woody Allen is innocent” campaign.

She is indeed getting a % of the Disney + PVOD revenues, with the money being put in the same pot as the theatrical revenue. But what Disney didn't do which WB did (not at first but eventually for everyone) with their HBO Max thing, and the likes of Netflix and Amazon do as a matter of course, is remove the tie to the financial performance entirely by paying more upfront (that's what I mean by 'full payouts'). The figure I read for WW84, the director and Gal Gadot were paid the equivalent of if the film had earned $800 million in a traditional exclusive theatrical release.

It's hard for me to sympathize with millionaires but it seems clear that she got screwed here and is due her fair share.

I also love how it's opened up the door for other actors lining up to do something similar - Emma Stone with Cruella, Gerard Butler with Olympus Has Fallen, etc.

Been away quite awhile. I thought NTTD was out in October - but it is in Sept?
OK ... just reading premiere in UK is Sept 30th but rest of the world is Oct 8th - is that correct?

In Japan enjoy the film 1 October or when you can, @4EverBonded. That's an amazingly early release date there. Living in Japan and Korea over the years, my experience was the wait could be 1-2 months.

    We've come a long way.
