I want to see a special feature behind the writing of the film and P&W's return that is just five seconds of Mendes saying (in close-up), "Logan f*cked us," after the title intro plays.

Followed by a 5 min feature of Thomas Newman saying 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry' on a loop.

Maybe they figured that the Sony Leaks were our special features!

Bond would shift the same number of units with or without special features. Hence they don't bother anymore. Sad, but that's the way it is.

Are you just talking about special features or are you referring to the script as well?

I think that's also just where we're at now, with film releases. I can't remember the last film I bought any film where I was wowed by any extras, if there were any to begin with. I don't think studios or anyone on the distribution side care any more, with so much other things in the movie process to worry over. We're also in the super digital age now, so they may assume we don't want them or can look stuff up. I like to see special features for special movies, but not a lot of special movies get made anymore that I'd want to see behind the scenes of.

I remember buying the DVD for Spider-Man 2 in 2004, and that had two discs with something like ten hours of special features. We will never, ever see those days again.

It is a shame. Reading this, my mind immediately went back to the two-disc DVD edition of the film Hannibal, a terrific release with a lengthy documentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, unused posters, a splendid audio commentary with Ridley Scott, etc.

It's a shame re no commentary on SP as Sam's commentary for SF was very good.
He ploughed through, it relaying tons of relevant insights. He carried the ball the whole way.
Compare with some commentaries that are sparse, riddled with lame jokes, irritating laughing, and long stretches, where you wonder if they haven't all left the room, or nodded off.

My only hope for the inevitable blu-ray of B25 is that it's not so damn barebones like the SP release was. Super disappointing, given the amount of special features on almost all the other discs.

    Yes I agree with that!

    Me too

I think they haven't announced yet.

The moment they announce a date, people tend to wait for that and not go to the cinema.

Amazon Canada lists January 4th, but I've also read that it's been brought up to December 21st. Either way, not long now!

I'm waiting for the 60th Anniversary boxset with all the 25 films. Given the end of this era it looks like it's the right time to buy such a thing.

When I listed the date originally, I got it from the blu-ray.com forums, which are almost always right about these sorts of things. They get dates which usually aren't even confirmed for weeks or months at a time, for whatever reason.

Should be available sooner than that to buy on digital from the likes of ITunes as is the norm these days.

Awesome! Now we just need a complete set with the film included X) maybe they’re waiting for a super special 60th anniversary one…
  • Ugh. The box art of DC's era has sucked except for Casino Royale.

I'm going to buy the 4K steelbook. The cover art at least has the DB5 on it.
