Is Bond star Daniel Craig set for move to sleepy village?

Residents in a sleepy rural village are feeling shaken, but not stirred, by rumours that Bond star Daniel Craig has bought a house there.

A house in High Street, Barkway, is said to be the most recent property purchased by A-list couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, who are known to have family ties to the area.

Craig, 44, has starred as the British secret agent in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, with latest Bond film Skyfall due out in cinemas in November.

Star-struck residents have been keeping an eye on the large property, which has been undergoing renovation works for over a year, including huge security gates.

Villagers believe it’s only a matter of time before the celebrity couple and their two children from previous relationships move in.

Kieran Butler, 24, who lives several houses down from the property, said: “Everyone round the village knows it’s them moving in.

“With all the massive building works that have been going on for so long on that house, we wondered who it was going to be.

“It must be someone with loads of money as it’s massive, I reckon it must be worth about £3 million.

“They have built a big extension and gates and a wall around it too.

“My housemate works opposite, but she said the builders have been told to keep tight-lipped about who they are doing it up for.

“I haven’t seen either of them down the shops yet though.”

Weisz, 42, is familiar with the local area, having spent some of her life living in Barley and attending Cambridge University, which is where she began her acting career by appearing in student productions.

Kieran added: “It’s well known that Rachel Weisz is from Barley and still has family there, so it makes sense for the pair to have a house nearby.”

The Bafta and Golden Globe-winning couple also have homes in New York and London.

But the question is, did Daniel Craig in fact move to the sleepy rural village?

In the meantime, a rumor tells us Simon Russell Beale might have a role in the upcoming Bond film.
  • So this is where Bond goes after Craig, a sleepy village!

I heard Rhianna is going to both star in and sing the title theme for Bond 24, due out in 2015! :D

Of course not. Smoking never killed anyone. Our medical profession would never lie to us.

Well, you have to give it to them that Maureen O'Hara made it to the ripe old age of 95 (couldn't find any cause of death). And Ralph Bellamy died of a "lung ailment", but even he lived until the age of 87. But just imagine, maybe these persons might be between 103 and 121 today if they had NOT smoked Camels.

And Dick Haymes did actually die of lung cancer at 61. But we digress.

Indeed, we must get back on topic….

So, I hear Daniel Craig has just moved to a sleepy rural village.

So let's just seriously discuss rumours that Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz bought a house, or at least intended to do so, in a rural village. Not the one in Ulster County, NY, where they actually seem to have one.

Sadly the trip to Jamaica has already been won. You win the runner-up prize of an all expenses paid trip to Euro Disney in Paris. Congratulations!

    P.S. Don't worry. I won't be there this time.

Bond, girl, and a sleepy village huh? It's Rockabye Baby all over again! I must've missed this thread, what with all the Skyfall news. I'll come back to this one after the film is released in October.

In other news, did you guys hear about the GoldenEye satellite dish that collapsed? Life imitating art, eh? I'll try and find the article.

I know this Craig guy is getting a lot of hate, but I think he's got potential. Can't wait to see him in the role.

Ulster County? A little bit of home in the Big Apple.

A few years ago, I actually found a satellite image of the Craig/Weisz house in upstate New York on Google. Now, that is either creepy on my part or very Bondian. I'm not sure which.

Around this time late 2011/12 my mate actually served Daniel in a Tesco outside of London.

My mate Tom was putting some bags under his till then he looked up and Daniel was there with a pint of milk and a bottle of water waiting to be served. Tom as cool as ever, said out loud "f*** it's James Bond" right to Daniel Craig's face. Fortunately Daniel was a good sport, he laughed and said "you'd be surprised how often I get that mate"
