I watched a few of them they do repeat elements though they are very clever. A Doctor Who one would be great.
They were pretty much ruined the moment Lucas decided that Luke should act like a stoic sage in RETURN OF THE JEDI and he became incredibly boring to watch. It’s incredible how that approach has persisted in spite of the fact that we had both Obi-Wan and Yoda exhibiting strong personalities and charisma.
I didn’t watch AHSOKA, but I saw they did the same thing with the title character often just speaking in a calm and understated fashion.
I was interested in a more LOTR epic about the ancient times of the jedi and sith or whatever (not too knowledgable about old SW lore), but this has been repeatedly described as a "soap opera" and not in the "space opera" way that the originals enjoyed.
Like many medieval shows and movies, I take issue with how clean and organized everything seems. A little too up its own ass or trying too hard. I want to watch something confidently relaxed. From what I've seen of some of Acolyte, they're even subbing in digital people in the fights in some scenes. Just make it real, please. Make a cool fight with laser swords between two people, how damn hard can that be?
The issues are plenty and start with the writing and generic dialogue, the script keeps contradicting itself it feels like a first draft, the writing is amateur and reminds me of bad 90's Sci Fi TV.
The show cost according to reports £160 million so there are some good visual shots alas the direction is not dynamic at all.
The choreography for the hand to hand combat scenes is ok though feels out of place in Star Wars.
I was not a fan of Obi Wan... TV show though at least it got an emotional reaction out of me and had the odd exciting moment.
Ahsoka is a much better show than The Acolyte so far, the bar is not very high admittedly.

I just started watching The Mandalorian, preparing for the movie. I'm happy that Lucasfilm slowed down on Star Wars content, unlike Marvel. I think there will be big announcements at D23 in August, in terms of movies. I miss them as well.

I thought he was being looked at for a Star Wars movie after D & W and the final season of Stranger Things. Oh well, just Lucasfilm being Lucasfilm, I guess.
I also wonder if Rian Johnson will be back for a SW movie after Knives Out 3. At least one.
I so far like the characters of Osha and Master Sol.
The script is one of the worst I have seen it is parody without the comedy. Sol is by far the best character, Lee Jung-jae is good despite terrible writing.
The writing is bad constantly contradicting itself, how this was passed as acceptable is beyond me.
I have watched both episodes more than once and it gets worse, this show cost 180 million with zero quality control.
If some like it great, to me its just a continuation of mediocrity in SW.
OK, I'm not going to debate you. But you're right about writing, that honestly can make or break something for me. Bond included. Star Wars has ALWAYS had a mixed bag with writing.
Alas writing in all my favorite films and series has not been great for some time, recently I spend more time watching classic movies.

Otherwise, I don’t understand how the writing is supposedly “bad”. But you give ENTERPRISE a pass on your rewatch of S1 episodes some time ago, so I don’t know what to make of your assesssment of what makes it “bad”.
That said, I give the two episodes 3.5 out of 5. Just fairly above average but nothing to write home about.
