It has been some time since I watched this excellent thriller.

That's weird, i only got this on DVD the other day! £3 on ebay. The picture is really sharp for a DVD so i was well pleased, especially as it's as good as i remembered it.

I was reminded of this film after seeing Tom Berenger in Betrayed. He was very proficient in 80's cinema. Brilliantly intense actor.

Still not go round to rewatching Deadly Pursuit yet though the film is on my need to watch pile.

I bought Shattered last year with Tom Berenger and the gorgeous Greta Scacchi it was better than I remembered, Tom was a relatively big star for several years.

The twist seems very obvious now nevertheless the film was a surprisingly fun ride, a lot of nods to Hitchcock.

Got this gem on sale for £9 recently. Brilliantly macho script and direction from John Milius, and a barnstorming performance from Warren Oates.

I have not seen Dillinger, knowing ARROW it will no doubt be a great presentation.

I have it on DVD, great film. John Milius is always an interesting writer/director, (and infamous script doctor, Sean Connery insisted he work on 'The Hunt for Red October' script!)
I recommend watching the documentary on him, 'Milius', so sad what happened to him!

Yeah, but i think he recovered from his stroke? I have seen the Milius documentary. Excellent.

His DVD commentary's are hilarious. I look forward to listening to this one too.

I always preferred his scripted ending to Apocalypse Now. Would have been much better than Brando's pretentious mumbling.

Agreed! And of course he wrote the famous speech Quint gives in 'Jaws' about delivering the bomb, though Shaw apparently edited it down to what we hear in the film!
He also wrote one of my favourite westerns 'Jeremiah Johnson'

    IMG-20241126-165916.jpg

I am a fan of Polanski's films especially Chinatown, The Ninth Gate and Frantic though I have never seen The Fearless Vampire Killers, I will have to look out for it.

    A Polanski double bill...😁
    IMG-20241126-165916.jpg

Nice one mate! Thats the dvd of 'The Fearless Vampire Killers' I owned for years, but I got an upgrade to bluray last year, but it was a foreign release. Am still on the lookout for a good new copy of it!
'Rosemary's Baby' is very good film, and I also own 'Chinatown', 'Macbeth' and 'Cul de Sac' ( which I recommend!)
Haven't seen 'Frantic' in years, nice little Hitchcockian thriller, though Polanski fumbles the climax!
My younger brother, usually buys me a movie on my birthday, and last year got me 'Pirates', but I haven't watched it yet ( never seen it, but by all accounts it's pretty terrible!!!)

Thanks @Mathis1 i got both of those with a CEX voucher. The Vampires DVD was only a fiver, and i was really impressed with the picture (upscaled through my 4K player) I haven't seen it in many years but thoroughly enjoyed it again.

Polanski's Repulsion is also a very good film. I'm a big fan of Frantic which i own on Bluray. Personally Chinatown and Rosemary's Baby are his masterpieces.

Lots of DVDs bought for me, as an advance Christmas gift :

    24990280630.jpg

    81XixDmcoJL._SL1500_.jpg

(Well, there's a DVD alongside the CD).

I'm a fan of Miyazaki, so...

    71tj8S8VxkL._SL1500_.jpg

Loved that series when I watched it in the '90s on BBC Prime (the only place where you could see it in France). Wonder if it still holds up.

    And also this :

    81wyDq4jw3L._SL1500_.jpg

But of course, what I'm really waiting for hasn't come out yet. But it will, next week.

Finally got a copy of a film I've loved since I saw it in the late 80's. Dealing with New Orleans Police corruption both seriously and with a quirky humour. Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin are so good in this, with fantastic chemistry.

Yeah, Sea Of Love is a brilliant thriller. Must try and get that too. Ellen Barkin also had great chemistry with Pacino.

Well, when Noriko “demands” that you to do something ……… :))
    10840979.jpg

I’m on my fourth copy of the film at present.
    1. Region 2 DVD (” Godzilla Minus One”) – May, 2024. My laptop DVD software will play all discs from all regions and I was able to download the srt file containing the subtitles.
    2. Itunes (“Godzilla Minus One”)
    3. Amazon Prime (“Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color) – I had an unused store credit.
    4. Blu-Ray (“Godzilla Minus One”)
The “Making Of”, “VFX” and “Promotional” extras on the latter are very good and they are subtitled. On the off-chance that you missed it in the "G" thread, listed below is the link to the English Language booklet that buyers of the Boxset sold through the Official Godzilla Store were sent.
    https://delivery.shopifyapps.com/-/a3ef2fc92d046e95/1cc481999bbe3726?utm_campaign=homevideodownload&utm_medium=lifecycle&utm_source=email&_kx=x1GNW2DEeisCppWZm69dM2X4wqeDWjNF62u20jL0yWY.VR8svJ

Note, just yesterday (Dec 3rd) I saw that the US Godzilla Store is accepting pre-orders for a version of “Godzilla Minus One” and ”Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color” with auto commentary, so I may not be done.
