Something is putting me off. The trailer lacked a bit of narrative and I feel relies on people knowing the lore already, which is fine and fair, but doesn't sell me anything else in that place. Just "dog" and some shots of other heroes or villains, but no stakes established beyond "he saves people from... something." I'm confused what raising a small flag would do for Superman... just weird choices throughout. I could nitpick but I won't. Just something off. Can I say the cinematography looks bad when it's not showing me a CGI thing? The ground shots of the crowds in harsh sunlight look like they were shot with a phone.
Are we going to see his mom die instead of the father?
What or who is that alien creature?
Forgot that the Green Lanterns show up in this. How will they be explained?
Why is a boy raising a torn and tattered Superman flag in a desert?
I would say I am mildly interested and I guess that is what a teaser trailer is supposed to do.
There made mistake that there go for Batman vs Superman as sequel insteed of straight sequel of Man of Steel. Besides that you need introducing movie with Afleck Batman. I always have doubt, the Bluray error with the audio include, but after Man Of Steel i even feels les need to see that movie.
Before Man of Steel, the last Superman i watched was Superman Returns on tv. I only remember it was boring.
Trailer of this 2025 Superman movie: The Clark / Dalyplanet are there and look great. Superman having a dog like as in animated movie ?. Biggest problem the same as Disney doing with Marvel comic book movies (Whyle Warner already made spinoff series around Arrow. ). To much chacters, to much connection. One scene with Lois/Superman there at on wrong moment in the trailer, that it feels to much.
I always have more with Batman and grow up with Superman 40's animation and Lois & Clark (Where i know Teri Hatcher from before she played in Tomorrow Never Dies). Superman original movies feel as slow movies and was not really happy with dvd's that exist back then (inspecialy 3th and 4th movie) and Warner disappointed Dutch people when there not release Dutch subtiteld release of that 8 disc Bluray boxset. One episode in very poor quality of that 40 animation on dvd besides Man Of Steel 2 Disc 3D Bluray (Who is part of combopack with three other movies) is only Superman man thing i have in my collection.
It’s only a teaser, not a full blown theatrical trailer. Teasers are typically just collages of cool imagery.
Cheap? Really?
Also, if that's John Murphy's take on Superman's music in the trailer, then it's got a John Williams feel to it.
My only drawback is the below par music.

I would agree...
True.
I am a fan of rock music though by rock music standards IMO the guitar in the trailer sounds pretty bad and does not fit Superman at all.

I said in my first note my issue is with the shots that don't have major CGI elements. The ground shots of random people running scared look terrible. The lighting in some shots is harsh and bad. The CGI monster looks fantastic, as does the shot you mention. But there is a disconnect between shots in the trailer.
If the majority of the score is orchestral from what we heard in the trailer it will be more tolerable. I love the idea John Williams theme is being used as Supes signature theme though make it a good variation.
i need to listen to some of John Murphy's other work to get an idea of what he is likely to do with the score overall.
...
Oh, wait... right.
I can only ever speak for myself.
This is the Superman of the comics finally coming to life.
After watching the trailer several times Krypto got to me and for a number of reasons.
Krypto was brilliantly realized, Superman was messed up and Gunn turned a potentially hokey scene into something that had incredible weight to it, it emotionally effected me.

Just watched the teaser a few times with exerts of John Williams Destruction of Krypton playing over it. The music is definitely the issue, with a good score these images are very good.

We are seven months away... explore other options with the score...
I credit SUPERMAN THE MOVIE for making a film buff out of me at a young age. That said, I credit THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN television series for my love of black and white and the Golden Age of Hollywood.
The new trailer really clicked for me, and triggered memories of reading Action Comics during the spring of 1981 while anticipating SUPERMAN II. I love Corenswet's costume. Mostly going traditional with a bit of modern tweaking. I also love that he's got the \S/ emblem on his cape. For me, that alone makes his suit a cut above every Supersuit since Christopher Reeve.
Unfortunately, there’s just no getting away from the fact that live-action standalone Superman films after that have been disappointing. I think III and Returns have some redeemable qualities, but still are inconsistent and fail to capture the magic of the first couple. Then IV and Man of Steel for me, honestly, are both pretty bad. I was okay with Man of Steel when I first saw it, but realized soon enough I was kidding myself, and it just completely misses the mark spiritually. And IV… I mean, I could see it having guilty pleasure potential, but otherwise I think it speaks for itself.
I really hope this new one can be great, but I’m not going to get my hopes up too much. Even if it ends up being the third best, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee greatness, given where the bar has been set. I want so bad for this series to be great, but there’s much to do and prove to get there. If nothing else, though, we will always have the Christopher Reeve originals and the solid Animated Series!
It would be like if the Bond franchise never had a film that was as good or better than DR. NO, and the third film gave a significant amount of screen time to Bill Cosby.
