President: Cookie?
Colonel: No, thank you, sir.
President: Young lady?
Young lady: No, thank you, sir.
President: No, I was just offering him a young lady.
I was sad to hear of the death of Ian Fleming's nephew, James Fleming, aged 80. I have a copy of his book Bond Behind the Iron Curtain (2021).

He was one of the popular snooker players of the 1980s.
Ray Reardon, another former world champion, also died this year.
One of the many snooker greats of the 80’s.
RIP Terry Griffiths
Legendary snooker player! ( but a very boring one, if I recall!)
Back in the days when a team like Steaua Bucharest could win the Champions League (or Europacup I as it was called back then), he stopped all of Barcelona's four penalties in the final's decisive shootout:
A genius.

And in France, we lost one of our most beloved TV cooking show presenter, Maïté, at the age of 86.

Oh no, damn. :( RIP.
Just saw this. RIP. To me she will always be THE Juliet and THE Virgin Mary. I had a big crush on her as Juliet as a child, watching the movie with my mum I was upset to see her die.
I am due to watch Death on the Nile this Christmas which Olivia also appeared in.

I must admit - but at the same time find it remarkable that she left that impression on my very much younger self - that a Playboy spread of hers (I googled and found out it was from Spring 1973!!!) came immediately to my mind, as my only connection to her name. A very beautiful woman, both young and old. Tragic to see her go due to what was apparently an avoidable accident, instead of letting her enjoy her old age.

RIP
Yes, he is a rare politician who could call himself honest (along with his predecessor and close friend Gerald Ford). I think a lot of people agree with you @JWPepper Reagan used that untrustworthy smile to get my country into a lot of the messes we are in now. But, Carter will always leave a positive legacy, in more ways than one. Also, he watched more movies than anyone else while President. He averaged 2 movies a week. He managed to watch all 11 Bond movies (at that time) while he was in office! He is missed, and a missed opportunity for bettering America.
